Job summary

FTI Consulting (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. is seeking an Associate in its Risk and Investigations Practice to support client engagements across the South-East Asia region.

You will conduct research, perform due diligence, and contribute to risk assessments while working under supervision to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience; fresh graduates welcome if keen on research, BI and due diligence.
• Proficiency in written and spoken English.
• Additional ASEAN language skills (Bahasa Indonesia or Bahasa Malaysia) are a plus.
• Knowledge of OSINT and research tools is advantageous.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
• Self-starter, resourceful, able to work in fast-paced settings.
• Strong communication and writing skills.
• Excellent logical and quantitative abilities.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to work with senior team members and clients under deadlines.

• Evaluate information for accuracy, reliability and relevance in risk assessment.
• Review and analyze local-language information; create English reports and presentations; link charts where needed.
• Identify new information sources and research tools to improve efficiency.
• Provide advice on risk mitigation.
• Assist with drafting expert and client reports and presentations.
• Interact with clients, including lawyers and senior accounting personnel.
• Develop professional contacts through networking and firm initiatives.

About The Role

Our Risk and Investigations Practice conducts research and investigations to uncover actionable intelligence and performs value-added analysis to help decision-makers address and mitigate risk, protect assets, and make informed investment decisions to maximize opportunities. Our experts help clients resolve a variety of issues by conducting independent reviews and investigations which include:

• Fraud investigations
• Anti-bribery and foreign corruption (FCPA / UK Bribery Act) investigations and risk assessments
• Investigations into whistleblower allegations
• Litigation and compliance support
• Due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and cross-border transactions
• Business intelligence
• Assets searches
• Intellectual property theft and brand protection
• Political risk assessments

What You'll Do

As an Associate, you will support various client engagements in the South-East Asia region. You will contribute to client matters by completing assigned tasks accurately and on time with regular supervision. You will communicate effectively with other team members, and to take an interest in how your work fits into the overall project plan. You will need to develop a strong knowledge of the legal process, especially with regard to litigation, fraud and compliance issues.

• Research and analysis of information from public-domain sources and field inquiries to support due diligence assignments, business intelligence projects and other types of investigations.
• Evaluation of information and information sources for accuracy, reliability and relevance in assessing risk.
• Review and analysis of local language information and, creation of research reports in English, presentations and where needed link charts or similar diagrams to record investigative actions and findings.
• Proactive identification of new sources of information, and research tools and approaches as well as managing of these resources to achieve high quality and cost effectiveness.
• Provision of advice on how to mitigate risk.
• Assist with the preparation of draft expert reports and client reports and presentations.
• Interact with clients, including lawyers, in house counsel and senior accounting personnel.
• Undertake networking and marketing activities to begin to develop professional contacts.
• Contribute to company initiatives and team development activities.

What You Will Need to Succeed

Basic Qualifications Minimum Bachelor's degree or higher. At least 1-2 years of relevant experience; Fresh graduates who have strong interest and passion in research, business intelligence and due diligence works are welcomed to apply. Proficiency in both written and spoken English. Fluency in other ASEAN languages in particular, Bahasa Indonesian or Bahasa Malayu will be an added advantage. Knowledge of OSINT and other research and analytical tools an advantage. Proficiency with the Microsoft Office applications. Demonstrated self-starter and resourceful individual, with experience of operating in fast paced and dynamic operational settings. Strong communication and writing skills. Excellent logical and quantitative skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work with senior team members and the client in demanding, deadline-driven situations.

Regional/Global travel to client office(s) and/or FTI regional office(s) as needed. Able to attend early/late hours' regional/global meetings as needed.
