Job summary

WSP Consultancy Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking an Associate to provide end-to-end technical support across project lifecycles, leading teams to deliver high-quality Civil/Structural solutions. The role involves coordinating with external consultants, preparing designs and calculations, and mentoring engineers while upholding SHEQ standards.

The ideal candidate has PE certification and 8–10 years' experience in civil/structural works.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering or its equivalent.
• PE certification by the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in the analysis and design of civil works, concrete/steel structures, or soil-structure interactions.
• Proficiency with engineering design software and analytical tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support across project lifecycle including conceptual design to site meetings.
• Prepare schematic design, layout, calculations, reports and specifications.
• Liaise with external consultants, architects, contractors and suppliers to resolve issues.
• Supervise and review the work of Engineers, Designers and/or Drafters in the project team.
• Discuss and propose solutions to technical issues and improve design standards.
• Implement, control and improve the quality of service in the division.
• Enforce operating procedures, work instructions and quality requirements.
• Develop technical knowledge and competency.
• Act as Project Manager, QP or Team Leader on projects.
• Mentor new employees.

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Associate provides end-to-end technical support throughout project lifecycle by leading teams to provide technical expertise and deliver client satisfaction.

The incumbent will be seen as one who proactively engages with peers within WSP to manage and deliver projects at a high standard.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide technical support in various stages of project, including conceptual design, design development, contract documentation, authority submissions, contract administration, site meetings
• Prepare schematic design, layout, calculations, technical reports and specifications
• Liaise with external consultant teams, architects, contractors and suppliers to resolve project issues
• Supervise and review the work of Engineers, Designers and/or Drafters in the project team
• Discuss and propose solutions to technical issues and improvement on design standards
• Implement, control, and improve the quality of service produced in his division
• Enforce and implement all operating procedures, work instructions and quality requirements in the division.
• Develop technical knowledge and competency
• Act as either Project Manager, QP or Team Leader in projects.
• Act as mentor to new employees.
• Improve technical know-how among engineers within his division.
• Responsible to participate and support the Company’s SHEQ within their scope of duties.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Degree in Civil and Structural Engineering or its equivalent
• PE certified and recognized by the Professional Engineers Board of Singapore
• Minimum 8 - 10 years relevant experience
• Good exposure in the analysis and design of civil works, concrete structures, steel structures, or soil-structure interactions
• Good knowledge of the various engineering design software and analytical tools
• Experience in leading a project team
• Applicant with less experience will be considered for Principal Engineer role
