Job summary

AstraZeneca Singapore Pte Ltd is seeking an Associate Director - Quality Control to lead a large QC organization, drive mid-term strategy, and enable new product introductions with Lean and digital tools. You will ensure right-first-time testing, strengthen compliance, and build a high-performing team across manufacturing, regulatory, and process development.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, data integrity, and prioritizing quality in a fast-moving biologics manufacturing environment

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a science/technical field (Pharmacy, Biology, Chemistry).
Experience in pharmaceutical quality control management.
Prior experience in a GxP environment.
Experience working cross-functionally across the supply chain with regulatory, manufacturing, and process development.

Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day QC operations for a larger/complex area, meeting plan, budget, and service levels.
Develop 12–18 month QC plan with clear priorities, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
Oversee allocation of people, labs, and equipment to meet volume and compliance needs.
Drive long-term planning for product, process, and equipment introductions in QC.
Define and report key quality metrics to senior leadership; improve data integrity and turnaround time.
Proactively digitize QC workflows; lead change while maintaining GxP compliance.
Lead local and global initiatives impacting QC and partner functions across sites.
Set goals, coach and mentor, and build capability through performance feedback.
Oversee recruitment and onboarding; ensure training keeps pace with technology and requirements.
Foster a results-focused, agile culture with Lean and scientific rigor.
