About the Role

The Institutional and Wealth teams are responsible for strengthening and growing our prospect, client, and consultant relationships around the world. We are seeking an Associate Business Development Manager to join our Global Wealth Team, based in Singapore, to drive growth across Wellington’s full product suite with partners across Southeast Asia markets.

Responsibilities

• Cover Southeast Asia‑based clients with a focus on the Singapore consumer and private banking market as part of the Asia wealth team.
• Work closely with Wellington teams to understand client investment objectives and policy issues and bring the firm’s resources to client, delivering a level of service that will exceed the client’s expectations and position Wellington Management as the partner of choice.
• Cover clients including private banks, consumer banks, platforms, insurance partners and asset managers/sub‑advisory; manage product selection, due diligence, investment advisers and relationship managers.
• Provide dedicated client coverage focused on driving growth across funds/strategies, aligning with business priorities to deliver strategic commercial outcomes.
• Contribute to the team’s collaborative approach to relationship building with strategic distribution partners, including identifying, developing, and nurturing key contacts.
• Manage and develop existing client relationships, highlighting key focus funds/strategies, building buy‑list positions, and identifying new partnership opportunities.
• Develop wider industry relationships with influencers within the wealth channel.
• Work in partnership with Business Development Managers to grow and defend the business in the region.
• Collaborate with Relationship Management, Product Management and Investment teams to drive exceptional growth.
• Partner with Marketing and Communications to align local marketing and sales strategies and contribute to brand awareness.
• Participate in team sales meetings, strategy planning and development.
• Travel within the region to support distribution efforts with key accounts, client events, roadshows and education.

Qualifications & Skills

• 5‑10 years of relevant industry experience.
• Solid understanding of the Singapore Fund Distribution business with proven success.
• Proven aptitude for sales, paired with strong analytical skills and a strategic mindset.
• Track record of successfully developing and managing a network of client relationships within the markets.
• Comprehensive understanding of competitors, products, key market trends, market infrastructure and industry developments.
• In‑depth knowledge of financial markets and ability to influence through a content‑led, consultative sale approach.
• Action‑oriented, accountable, committed, driven and self‑motivated with excellent communication and team‑working skills.
• Strategic mindset and ability to determine, prioritise, focus and execute a sales strategy in a timely manner.
• High level of integrity, trust and client‑centric focus.
• Excellent English communication skills.
• Strong academic background, including an undergraduate degree.
• Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFA) or progress towards one is preferred.
• Highly motivated self‑starter with high intellectual curiosity.
