  • Manage supplier relationships to drive performance, innovation and cost optimisation while monitoring market trends.
  • Contribute to procurement transformation initiatives, category planning, spend analysis and process improvements.

Corporate Infrastructure Services Department

TheCorporate Infrastructure Services Department (CISD)at GIC focuses on maintaining a best-in-class workplace environment that enables employees to perform at their highest potential. Within CISD, theEnterprise Sourcing & Procurement (ESP)team provides strategic procurement and sourcing support, ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements, value optimization, and quality assurance across all organizational activities.

The Category Management role sits within ESP and supports IT and Non-IT purchases that business stakeholders need.

What impact can you make in this role?

The Associate / Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Category Management will play a key role in enabling the firm's business objectives by delivering strategic sourcing outcomes, driving commercial value, and strengthening supplier partnerships. You will work closely with business stakeholders to shape procurement strategies, optimise spend, manage supplier risks, and ensure procurement activities are aligned with governance standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving business challenges, influencing stakeholders, and delivering measurable impact across a diverse portfolio of spend categories (both IT and Non-IT).

What will you do in the Category Management team?
  • You will partner with internal stakeholders to understand business needs and develop sourcing strategies that balance commercial, operational, and risk considerations.
  • Your responsibilities will include leading competitive sourcing events, evaluating supplier proposals, negotiating commercial terms, and supporting contract execution in collaboration with Legal and Risk functions.
  • You will manage supplier relationships to drive performance, innovation, and continuous improvement, while monitoring market trends to identify opportunities for cost optimisation and value creation.
  • You will also contribute to procurement transformation initiatives, category planning, spend analysis, and process improvements to enhance procurement effectiveness and stakeholder experience.
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
  • 5 – 8 years of experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, category management, supply chain, or a related discipline.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, procurement / supply chain, operations management, information systems or a related discipline.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, commercial, and negotiation skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into effective sourcing strategies. Process-oriented, with a structured and disciplined approach to execution.
  • Experience managing technology, professional services, corporate communications, or corporate services categories will be advantageous.
  • Familiarity with procurement platforms (e.g., SAP, Coupa), strong in Excel and AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot) preferred.
  • Confident communicator who can build trusted relationships across diverse stakeholders and influence decisions at different organisational levels.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional procurement certifications such as CIPS or ISM are an advantage but not essential.
