Job summary

Zurich Insurance Company Ltd (Singapore Branch) is seeking an Associate AI Engineer to support the design, development, and deployment of AI and ML solutions that enhance customer experiences and drive operational efficiency. You will work with Data Scientists and business stakeholders, gaining hands-on experience with ML models, generative AI, AI agents, and cloud platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, AI, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or related discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in AI, ML or related fields.
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow).
• Experience with Generative AI and LLMs.
• Familiarity with API frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.
• Understanding of cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).

Responsibilities

Job Purpose

• We are seeking a motivated and innovative Associate AI Engineer to join us. In this role, you will support the design, development, and deployment of AI and machine learning solutions that enhance customer experiences, improve business processes, and drive operational efficiency.
• Working alongside experienced Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and business stakeholders, you will gain hands‑on experience with machine learning models, generative AI applications, AI agents, and cloud‑based AI platforms.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in developing and deploying AI and machine learning solutions to address business challenges and enhance operational performance.
2. Work with business and technical teams to understand requirements, gather data, and support the delivery of AI‑driven use cases.
3. Build, test, and maintain machine learning models using structured and unstructured data.
4. Support the development of Generative AI applications, including chatbots, copilots, AI agents, document intelligence, and knowledge retrieval solutions.
5. Participate in the deployment and monitoring of AI solutions in cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS.
6. Assist in data preparation, feature engineering, model evaluation, and performance optimization activities.
7. Develop and maintain APIs and integrations to operationalize AI models and services.
8. Support AI model observability, monitoring, and reporting to ensure reliability and performance in production.
9. Collaborate with Data Engineers and Platform Engineers to improve AI and data infrastructure capabilities.
10. Stay current with emerging AI technologies, machine learning techniques, and industry best practices.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.

Technical Skills

• 1 to 3 years of experience in AI, machine learning, software engineering, data science, or related technical fields.
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and algorithms.
• Knowledge of Python and common data science libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, and PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Familiarity with Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Understanding of prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), or AI Agents is advantageous.
• Exposure to Natural Language Processing (NLP), OCR, computer vision, or document intelligence solutions is a plus.
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
• Familiarity with API development frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask is desirable.
• Knowledge of Git, CI/CD practices, and MLOps concepts is beneficial.
