Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking an Assistant Service Engineer specializing in Mechanical and Plumbing to support turnkey projects and provide on-site maintenance and technical assistance to customers. You will install, test, commission, service and repair equipment, while troubleshooting faults and reporting service activities.

The role requires reading diagrams, welding qualifications as needed, and willingness to travel to customer sites with short notice.

Qualifications

• Minimum Higher Nitec or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in mechanical systems, plumbing, installation, or maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings, mechanical schematics, and piping layouts.
• Competent in welding with relevant certifications where required by Singapore regulations or project specs.

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site maintenance and technical support to existing customers
• Perform and supervise equipment installation, overhaul, testing, commissioning, servicing and repair of company products
• Provide first-line technical support for field service activities and timely issue resolution
• Troubleshoot equipment faults, identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
• Prepare service reports and maintain records of maintenance activities and equipment performance
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams to resolve technical issues and ensure customer satisfaction

Key responsibilities

• Provide on-site maintenance and technical support to existing customers
• Perform and supervise equipment installation (mechanical, electrical and or plumbing, welding), overhaul, testing, commissioning, servicing, and repair of company products
• Provide first-line technical support for field service activities, ensuring timely response and effective resolution of customer issues
• Troubleshoot equipment-related faults, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions
• Prepare service reports and maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance
• Coordinate with internal engineering teams to resolve technical issues and ensure customer satisfaction

About you

• Minimum Higher Nitec or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Plumbing, or an equivalent discipline
• At least 3 years of relevant working experience in mechanical systems, plumbing, equipment installation, or maintenance
• Ability to read and interpret P&ID drawings, mechanical schematics, and piping layouts
• Competent in plastic and/or metal welding, with relevant welder qualifications or certifications where required by applicable Singapore regulations, industry standards, or project specifications
• Proficient in using heavy-duty power tools and equipment for pipe cutting, preparation, joining, and installation, including TIG/MIG welding of carbon steel and stainless steel, as well as welding or joining specialised plastics
• Good communication skills with customers and colleagues
• Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
• Willing to travel to customer sites, including at short notice for urgent support
• Possess a valid Singapore Class 3 driving licence will be beneficial
• Willing to undertake regional travel as required
