Job summary

MAZU RECRUITMENT PTE. LTD. partners with a well-established international marine services business to hire a hands-on Service Engineer with a mechanical focus in Singapore.

The role covers on-board and yard-based work, inspecting, commissioning, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems on vessels across the region. You will travel regionally to port calls, drydocks and anchorages, inspecting and repairing machinery, and guiding third-party workshop teams.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Marine, Mechanical or Marine Engineering (or equivalent)
• Hands-on experience with heavy mechanical systems in a marine service or field role, or a seagoing engineering background
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and a solid understanding of how complex machinery operates, is maintained and is overhauled
• Comfortable working on board vessels and willing to travel regionally, often at short notice
• Excellent English communication skills; additional regional languages are an advantage
• Customer-focused, calm under pressure and able to work independently

Responsibilities

• Guide and supervise third-party workshop and shipyard personnel to ensure work meets required standards

• Work closely with colleagues in technical and commercial teams to support customer needs
• Provide emergency attendance when required, including occasional out-of-hours support

About the opportunity

Our client is a well-established international marine services business with a strong reputation across the market. They are growing their Singapore-based service team and are looking for a hands-on Service Engineer with a mechanical focus to support customers across the region.

The role

You will be the technical point of contact for customers on board vessels and in shipyards, helping keep critical onboard mechanical systems safe, reliable and efficient. You will:
