Job summary

MASSTRON PTE LTD is seeking an Assistant Project Engineer to join our team and work closely with Sales and Production on delivering customer assembly projects. You will support customers during quotation, develop assembly solutions, prepare BOMs, and create CAD drawings while coordinating with Production after orders are secured.

The role involves ensuring materials, drawings and assembly requirements are communicated effectively and projects progress according to schedule.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, manufacturing engineering or related field.
• Proficient with CAD software.
• Good understanding of mechanical assembly and manufacturing processes.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.
• Organised and problem-solving mindset.
• Able to work with Sales, Production and customers.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales to understand customer requirements and propose assembly solutions.
• Prepare BOMs to support costing, quotation and bidding.
• Create CAD drawings to illustrate proposed solutions for customers and internal teams.
• Provide technical input during customer discussions and proposals.
• Coordinate with Production after orders are secured to ensure materials, drawings and assembly requirements are communicated.
• Monitor project progress and work with Production to meet schedule.
• Prepare and maintain work instructions, drawings and technical documentation.
• Assist in troubleshooting technical and production issues and develop practical solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions and suggest improvements to assembly methods.

Job description

We are looking for a Assistant Project Engineer to join our team and work closely with our Sales and Production teams in delivering customer assembly projects.

The role will involve supporting customers and Sales during the quotation stage, developing assembly solutions, preparing Bills of Materials (BOM), creating CAD drawings, and coordinating with Production after orders are secured.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Sales team to understand customer requirements and develop suitable assembly solutions.
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM) and material requirements to support costing, quotation and project bidding.
• Use CAD software to prepare assembly drawings and illustrate proposed solutions for customers and internal teams.
• Provide technical support and input during customer discussions and project proposals.
• Coordinate with the Production team after orders are secured to ensure materials, drawings and assembly requirements are properly communicated.
• Monitor project progress and work with Production to ensure projects are completed according to schedule.
• Prepare and maintain Work Instructions, assembly drawings and technical documentation.
• Assist in troubleshooting technical and production issues and work with the relevant teams to develop practical solutions.
• Participate in technical discussions and suggest improvements to assembly methods and processes.
• Take ownership of assigned projects from quotation through to completion.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
• Basic to good working knowledge of CAD software.
• Good understanding of mechanical assembly and manufacturing processes.
• Good written and spoken communication skills.
• Good organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Positive attitude with a strong willingness to learn.
• Able to work effectively with Sales, Production and customers.
• Able to work independently while also being a good team player.
