Job summary

RGE is seeking a seasoned procurement leader to strategically manage a global commodity portfolio across mills, with a focus on Southeast Asia. You will guide external partnerships, manage internal stakeholders, and drive deals from sourcing through delivery, ensuring cost, quality and reliability.

The role requires hands-on experience with trade cycles and a track record in delivering value through strategic sourcing, market analysis and project leadership across a multinational setting.

Responsibilities

• Strategically manage the assigned Commodity portfolio in procurement across mills globally, focusing on Indonesia/Malaysia.
• Lead collaborative processes to select and manage external partners and internal stakeholders, ensuring cost, quality and delivery goals.
• Be hands-on with the life cycle of commercial trades and deals across activities.
• Drive business development projects when needed to create long‑term value for stakeholders.
• Identify, qualify and onboard new vendors to meet quality requirements.
• Analyze markets and turn data into intelligent procurement strategies.
• Communicate effectively with senior management and global counterparties.
• Aim to achieve cost savings targets and monitor market conditions for timely purchases.
• Take a global lead in commodity purchases across mills and develop aligned strategies.
• Provide regular market updates to senior management.
• Handle ad-hoc tasks as assigned by reporting manager.

Job description

• Strategically manage the assigned Commodity portfolio in operational procurement to support the mills globally, with focus on Indonesia /Malaysia mills
• Lead a proactive, collaborative and communicative process to select, manage, establish strong partnerships and relationships with external counterparties and internal stakeholders. Ensure cost, quality, delivery, reliability and technical performance while achieving both tactical and strategic goals
• Be well-versed in the life cycle of a commercial trade/ deal and must have prior hands-on experiences in most of these activities
• Be commercially competent in being able to lead business development projects (e.g. acquisitions, joint ventures investments) where necessary to create long term value for the stakeholders
• Be proficient in identifying, qualifying and establishing new vendors, striving to meet and exceed our customers' quality requirements for the assigned Commodity.
• Be proficient in analyzing markets and knowing how to turn data into actionable market intelligence to execute better procurement strategies
• Effective and efficient communicator to senior management and external counterparties from diverse global locations
• Responsible to achieve assigned cost savings targets
• Study and monitor the market conditions for making sound and timely purchasing decision
• Take a global lead role in overseeing the assigned Commodity purchases across all mills to develop a commodity strategy which is in line with global strategy
• Provide regular market updates to senior management
