Job summary

ST Engineering is seeking an Assistant Principal Engineer (Software Lead) to drive design, development, and delivery of mission software and services. You will lead a skilled team across engineering, PM and customer interfaces to achieve project goals, ensure secure, scalable software systems, and mentor junior members.

The role requires strong full-stack capabilities, extensive experience with Agile methodologies, and a proactive mindset to stay ahead of evolving technology trends.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in software engineering.
• Experience in full-stack development.
• At least 3 years hands-on Agile development.
• DevSecOps or CI/CD experience.
• Proficiency in Java, JavaScript, Python or C++.
• Experience with Node.js, React, TypeScript, Spring Boot, Angular, Vue.
• Proficiency in SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Excellent communication and mentoring abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team to design, develop, test and debug system software.
• Identify technical challenges and risks and develop solutions accordingly.
• Review code and architectural design.
• Drive standards in design and development.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and technology developments.
• Reach project goals by working with Engineers, Project Managers and Customers.
• Create efficiency by identifying reusable components and processes.
• Provide forward-looking solutions that improve efficiency and scalability.

Qualities We Value

• At least 5 years of working experience in the related field
• Experience in full-stack development and strong knowledge of Software Engineering.
• At least 3 years hands-on experiences with Agile Development methodology.
• Experienced in at least 1 cycle of software development
• from design to development and testing.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps or practicing CI/CD for build and release automation.
• Strong programming skills and verifiable mastery of at least one of the following languages: Java, JavaScript, Python, C#, C++
• Proficiency in Node.js, React, TypeScript, Spring Boot, Angular.js, Vue.js, Next.js, Express.js, FastAPI and other common frameworks to develop software for various platform.
• Proficiency in designing and maintaining scalable SQL/no-SQL databases such as MSSQL, MongoDB, PostgreSQL.
• Strong in writing, verbal communication and presentation.
• Strong critical thinking, analytical and creative problem-solving skills.
• Resourceful, independent, responsive and conscientious.
• Good time management.
