Position Overview
The Assistant Operations Manager will work closely with the Operations Manager to support the daily operations of the concrete batching plant(s). This role provides hands-on exposure to plant management, production processes, logistics, and safety compliance. It is an excellent opportunity for fresh graduates or early-career professionals to gain experience in the ready-mix concrete industry, with structured guidance and mentorship provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Plant & Production Support
- Assist in coordinating daily batching plant activities, including scheduling and delivery of ready-mix concrete.
- Monitor production processes and support compliance with quality standards and customer requirements.
- Track and report on inventory of raw materials (cement, aggregates, admixtures).
- Operational Support & Efficiency
- Support initiatives to improve operational efficiency and plant performance.
- Monitor key metrics such as production volume and delivery timelines.
- Assist in cost-control efforts by supporting planning and resource utilization.
- Team Coordination
- Work with plant supervisors, drivers, and operators to understand workflows.
- Assist in scheduling and day-to-day workforce coordination.
- Learn and promote safety and performance standards across the team.
- Quality Assurance & Customer Service
- Support compliance with testing protocols and product specifications.
- Liaise with sales and dispatch teams to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Assist in handling customer feedback or complaints.
- Safety, Compliance & Maintenance
- Learn and enforce safety, health, and environmental regulations.
- Support plant and equipment maintenance tracking.
- Participate in risk assessments and suggest improvements.
- Reporting & Business Exposure
- Prepare operational reports and updates for management review.
- Gain exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning.
- Support plant upgrades and adoption of new technologies.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Fresh graduates are welcome; internship or project experience in construction materials, logistics, or manufacturing is an advantage.
Technical Knowledge
- Interest in concrete production processes and plant operations.
- Basic knowledge of ERP or plant management software (preferred but not required).
- Awareness of occupational safety standards and regulations is an advantage.
