Qualifications

• Ability to interpret commercial agreements, pricing formulae and risk-allocation clauses.
• Experience in commercial analysis, contract review, supplier engagement, market research or procurement planning.
• Ability to prepare clear management papers, regulatory submissions and negotiation materials.
• Strong analytical and financial modelling skills, especially in Excel.

Responsibilities

• Match regasified LNG and piped natural gas supply options to power plant requirements and constraints.
• Analyse key commercial terms including pricing formulae, take-or-pay, shortfall, curtailment, force majeure, credit support and delivery flexibility.
• Support gas portfolio optimisation across term and spot supply, delivery flexibility and contract obligations.
• Prepare commercial analysis, internal approval papers, market updates and negotiation positions.
• Develop long-term gas procurement plans, including supply-demand matching and plant-level offtake planning.
• Collaborate with legal, finance, operations, regulatory and senior management to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Support EMA and GasCo engagements, including open season processes and regulatory responses.
• Negotiate, review and support execution of spot and term gas contracts with GasCo and others.
• Build and maintain relationships with upstream LNG suppliers and regional market participants.
• Track LNG SPA benchmarks, pricing indices and long-term deal terms.
• Identify alternative gas procurement strategies including LNG/PNG import capabilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

YTL PowerSeraya is seeking a commercially driven Assistant Manager / Manager, Gas Commercial to support the company's long-term gas procurement, LNG market intelligence, portfolio optimisation and commercial strategy. The role will play an important part in securing competitive, reliable and flexible gas supply for YTL PowerSeraya's generation portfolio in Singapore, while monitoring relevant LNG and gas-market developments across Singapore and Malaysia.

The successful candidate will support long-term gas procurement planning, LNG supplier engagement, GasCo negotiations, regulatory submissions and alternative gas procurement strategies. The role requires strong commercial judgement, analytical capability, negotiation skills and the ability to work across internal teams and external stakeholders including EMA, Singapore GasCo, LNG suppliers.

Key Responsibilities

• Match regasified LNG and piped natural gas supply options to YTL PowerSeraya's power plant requirements, delivery points and operational constraints.
• Analyse key commercial terms including pricing formulae, take-or-pay, shortfall, curtailment, force majeure, credit support, payment terms and delivery flexibility.
• Support gas portfolio optimisation across term supply, spot supply, delivery flexibility, price exposure, plant dispatch and contract obligations.
• Prepare commercial analysis, internal approval papers, market updates, negotiation positions and management recommendations.
• Develop and maintain long-term gas procurement plans, including supply-demand matching, contract coverage analysis and plant-level offtake planning.
• Work closely with legal, finance, operations, regulatory and senior management stakeholders to ensure optimal gas procurement outcomes.
• Support EMA and GasCo-related engagements, including open season processes, spot gas arrangements, term gas contracting and regulatory consultation responses.
• Negotiate, review and support execution of spot and term gas contracts with GasCo and other relevant counterparties.
• Build and maintain relationships with upstream LNG suppliers, portfolio players, aggregators, traders, and regional gas-market participants.
• Track LNG SPA benchmarks, long-term LNG deal terms, pricing indices, volume flexibility and key commercial trends.
• Identify and evaluate alternative gas procurement strategies, including upstream participation, LNG/PNG import capability, and portfolio partnerships
