Job summary

Woodlands Hospital is seeking an Assistant Manager, Innovation & Improvement to support structured hospital-wide improvement and AI-related initiatives. You will work with clinical, operational and corporate teams to drive projects, coordinate pilots, and track outcomes.

The role emphasizes capability building, collaboration across departments, and sustaining an improvement culture to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Degree in any discipline, preferably in Business Management, Healthcare Management, or related fields.
  • 1–2 years of experience (Senior Executive) or 3–4 years (Assistant Manager) in healthcare, public sector, or large organisations.
  • Clinical operations experience is preferred.
  • Experience supporting or leading cross-functional improvement or transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with programme tracking, reporting, or coordination roles.

Responsibilities

  • Support the facilitation of improvement initiatives, including workshops and capability-building sessions (e.g. Value Stream Mapping, Lean methodologies).
  • Coordinate and track progress of improvement initiatives across cycles (e.g., 3, 6, 9, 12 months).
  • Provide day-to-day support to project leads to ensure timely execution and implementation.
  • Collaborate with clinical, operational, and administrative teams to adopt improvement practices.
  • Design and deliver improvement capability programmes with central functions.

Innovation and continuous improvement are key enablers of a next-generation hospital. The Senior Executive / Assistant Manager supports the implementation of hospital-wide improvement, innovation, and AI-related initiatives.


In this role, you will work with clinical, operational, and corporate teams to support the execution of structured improvement projects, facilitate capability building, and coordinate innovation pilots and transformation efforts. You will contribute to strengthening improvement culture and ensuring initiatives are well-executed and tracked for outcomes.


What You Will Drive


  • Support the facilitation of improvement initiatives, including workshops and capability-building sessions (e.g. Value Stream Mapping, Lean methodologies).
  • Work with clinical and operational teams to translate ideas into structured improvement projects with defined problem statements, timelines, and success metrics.
  • Coordinate and track progress of assigned improvement initiatives, including monitoring outcomes across review cycles (e.g. 3, 6, 9, and 12 months).
  • Provide day-to-day support to project leads to ensure timely execution and implementation of initiatives.

2. Internal Partnerships & Capability Building


  • Work closely with stakeholders across clinical, operational, and administrative teams to support adoption of improvement practices.
  • Support the coordination and sustainability of an Improvement Champion Network across departments.
  • Assist in the design and delivery of improvement capability programmes (e.g. Lean training, quality improvement initiatives) in collaboration with central functions such as Quality, Risk and Safety Office.
  • Support organisation-wide engagement activities such as Quality & Value festivals, learning forums, and internal workshops.
  • Contribute to communication efforts that promote innovation and continuous improvement culture.

3. External Partnerships & Innovation Support


  • Support coordination with external partners (e.g. CHI and other collaborators) for improvement and innovation projects.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting of grants or funding related to improvement initiatives.
  • Support departments in operationalising pilots, trials, and prototyping efforts within clinical or operational settings.
  • Support the coordination of benchmarking exercises, award submissions, and recognition initiatives.
  • Assist in collation of data, documentation, and materials from various departments, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Prepare reports, dashboards, and presentation materials for management updates and committees.

What You Bring


Education & Experience


  • Degree in any discipline, preferably in Business Management, Healthcare Management, or related fields.
  • 1-2 years of relevant working experience (Senior Executive) or 3-4 years (Assistant Manager), preferably in healthcare, public sector, or large organisations.
  • Clinical operations experience is preferred
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading cross-functional improvement or transformation initiatives.
  • Experience working with cross-functional stakeholders (clinicians and operations leaders) is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with programme tracking, reporting, or coordination roles will be beneficial.
