Job summary

A*STAR RESEARCH ENTITIES is seeking an Assistant Laboratory Technician to support daily lab operations in Singapore. The role includes washing and sterilising glassware, autoclaving consumables, decontaminating biohazard waste, recording daily output data, and maintaining a clean, functional workspace.

The appointee will address user queries or refer them to team members as needed, ensuring equipment is in good working order and the area remains compliant with safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sterilise used glassware for lab use.
• Return glassware to correct customers.
• Handle glassware carefully to prevent breakage.
• Sterilise media and lab consumables.
• Return lab consumables to their cabinets.
• Handle waste properly to prevent exposure and cross-contamination.
• Decontaminate waste prior to disposal.
• Keep the facility and equipment clean and ready for use.
• Address users’ queries or refer to other team members.

Job Summary

Responsibilities of the Assistant Laboratory Technician include washing and sterilising used glassware, autoclaving lab consumables and decontaminating biohazard waste. The appointee will also be responsible in recording of daily output data, keeping the working area clean and ensuring all equipment are in good working condition as well as addressing users' queries or refer them to other team members.

Job responsibilities

• Ensure all used glassware are properly washed and sterilised for lab use
• Ensure all glassware are sent back to the correct customers
• Handle glassware with care to prevent breakage
• Ensure all media and lab consumables are properly sterilised
• Ensure all lab consumables are sent back to their respective cabinet
• Ensure proper handling of waste to prevent exposure and cross-contamination
• Ensure waste is properly decontaminated prior to disposal
• Ensure cleanness and operational-readiness of the facility and equipment
• Address users' query or refer them to other team members.
