Job summary

GMP Technologies is seeking an Assistant / Field Service Engineer (Gas Detection) in Singapore. The role focuses on start-up, preventive maintenance and warranty repairs for gas detectors, with emphasis on safety and effective issue resolution.

The candidate should have 3–5 years of service/engineering experience, a Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Electro-Mechanical Engineering and a Class 3 driving license.

Qualifications

• NTC 2 or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of experience in service/engineering in a similar industry; process instrumentation experience is a plus.
• Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces; Class 3 driving license required.

Responsibilities

• Support start-up, contract maintenance and other service activities with emphasis on safety and protection.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance, logging, corrective maintenance works and warranty repairs.
• Participate in service and repair of gas detectors, safety activities, emergency response, breakdown calls and ad hoc projects.
• Manage all orders efficiently until fulfilment, working closely with the Service team.
• Liaise with customers, service supervisor, coordinators and logistics on queries, issues, status and deliveries.
• Ensure equipment turnaround and breakdown responses are efficient.
• Provide support to other service activities as assigned.
• Communicate technical information clearly to employees, customers and external parties.
• Participate in Workplace Safety & Health responsibilities as requested by the company.

• To provide support to other service activities that may be assigned in the course of work
• Effective communication of technical information to employees, customers and external parties in an accurate and concise manner in both a written and verbal media.
• To participate/take up Workplace Safety & Health responsibilities/ activities as per requested by the company.

Requirements

• NTC 2 or Diploma in Electrical/Electronic/Electro-Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 3-5 years experience in service/engineering position in similar industry. Process instrumentation experience is an added advantage.
• Able to work from height and in confined space when required.
• Class 3 Driving license is required.
