Job summary

Merries Executive Search client seeks an Assistant Engineer to configure, troubleshoot, test, and commission CBN and Ethernet networks, including fibre optic connections. You will maintain accurate technical records and complete site activities to schedule.

Responsibilities include independent testing, recording results, labelling equipment, updating diagrams, and ensuring safety compliance while following procedures and test plans.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Electronics or an equivalent ITE qualification relevant to the role.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in CBN or Ethernet networking.
• Working knowledge of Ethernet switching, basic network configuration and troubleshooting; familiarity with fibre optic systems.
• CCNA or a higher networking certification is preferred.

• Perform basic configuration of Ethernet switches and troubleshoot Ethernet network faults.
• Troubleshoot fibre optic connections and equipment within the CBN system.
• Test and commission Ethernet switches and the CBN system in accordance with test procedures and record the results.
