Assistant Engineer – Electrical / Mechanical Maintenance
Employment Type: 1-Year Contract, with opportunity for conversion to permanent based on performance
Salary: S$4,000 – S$6000 per month
About the Role
We are looking for Assistant Engineers / Technical Staff to join the technical team supporting large-scale waste management and waste-to-energy facilities in Singapore.
The role will support electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, control and general maintenance activities, depending on experience and deployment.
Training and on-the-job guidance will be provided on waste management facility operations before assignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily electrical and/or mechanical maintenance activities.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Assist with troubleshooting of equipment and systems.
- Support testing, commissioning and installation works.
- Work with consultants, contractors and other technical teams.
- Assist with maintenance of electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, control and building systems.
- Supervise contractors and ensure work is carried out safely and according to requirements.
- Follow Permit-to-Work (PTW) and other safety procedures.
- Assist with preparing maintenance records, reports and SOPs.
- Support equipment testing, changeover and maintenance programmes.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) when required, including overseas assignments.
- Support improvement initiatives related to safety, reliability and plant operations.
- Perform shift duties when required.
Requirements
- Diploma or Nitec in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Instrumentation & Control or other relevant Engineering disciplines.
- Relevant experience in maintenance, engineering, facilities, utilities, manufacturing, power generation, process plants or other industrial environments is an advantage.
- Fresh Diploma graduates with relevant engineering knowledge are welcome to apply.
- Strong technical and troubleshooting skills.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills.
- Knowledge of Navisworks or Primavera P6 is an advantage.
- Professional certifications such as LEW, Boiler Attendant or WSH-related certifications are an advantage.
- Willing to work in a waste management / waste-to-energy environment.
- Willing to perform shift work when required.
Working Schedule
The position may be deployed on shift or non-shift arrangements, depending on operational requirements.
- 12-hour rotating shifts
- May include weekends and public holidays
- 5 rest days per 15-day cycle
Ability and willingness to work shifts will be an advantage.
