Our client is seeking Engineering professionals to join its technical team supporting large-scale industrial and infrastructure facilities in Singapore.
Depending on your experience and assignment, you may be involved in engineering projects, construction and commissioning, or the operation and maintenance of existing plant facilities.
The Job:
- Work closely with project consultants, contractors and key stakeholders on the design and development of major engineering facilities.
- Monitor construction and installation activities to ensure works are carried out according to approved designs, technical specifications and statutory requirements.
- Participate in the testing and commissioning of mechanical, process, electrical, instrumentation, control and automation systems.
- Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) locally and overseas to verify the quality, functionality and performance of major equipment and systems.
- Support engineers in monitoring project progress and resolving technical and site-related matters.
Plant Engineering & Maintenance
- Coordinate maintenance activities between contractors and internal technical teams to ensure safe, reliable and efficient plant operations.
- Lead or coordinate a team of technical specialists where required.
- Implement preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and equipment overhaul programmes.
- Support the maintenance of equipment and systems including:
- Turbo-generators and motors
- Switchgears
- Low-Tension (LT) and High-Tension (HT) electrical systems
- Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
- Field instrumentation and control equipment
- Mechanical, EICA and building services systems
- Coordinate and administer contracts relating to plant operation and maintenance.
- Implement and enforce Permit-to-Work (PTW) requirements and safe work practices.
- Supervise contractors to ensure works meet required quality and safety standards.
- Assist in developing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety procedures and equipment testing/changeover programmes.
- Support continuous improvement and safety initiatives to enhance plant reliability and operational efficiency.
- Perform shift duties when operationally required.
Requirements
- Diploma or Nitec in Engineering or a relevant technical discipline.
- Diploma holders: preferably 3 years of relevant experience; fresh Diploma graduates may also be considered.
- Nitec holders: preferably 6-8 years of relevant working experience.
- Relevant experience in plant engineering, maintenance, utilities, power generation, process plants, heavy industries, mechanical, electrical or EICA systems would be advantageous.
- Candidates with professional certifications such as Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW), Boiler Attendant Certificate or relevant Workplace Safety & Health certifications will have an added advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge with good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Navisworks and Primavera P6 would be advantageous.
- Independent, resourceful and able to work effectively within a technical team.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Comfortable working in an industrial/plant environment.
- Able to perform rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays, when required.
