Job summary

CHINA COMMUNICATIONS CONSTRUCTION COMPANY LIMITED (SINGAPORE BRANCH) is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to supervise and coordinate large-scale infrastructure projects. You will review drawings, plan site operations, manage resources, and ensure safety and quality standards are met.

Candidates should hold a Civil Engineering degree, have at least 10 years in construction supervision, with MRT/rail or LTA experience considered an advantage, and be willing to on-site with night or weekend

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering recognized by PE B Singapore or relevant authority.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience, with 6+ years in construction supervision of large-scale infra projects.
• Experience in MRT/rail or LTA projects is advantageous.
• Experience with traffic/diversion works and viaduct construction is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of planning, quality management, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Construction Manager in planning, coordinating, and managing daily construction activities to meet project objectives, quality standards, safety requirements, and milestones.
• Review and interpret drawings, specs, method statements, and project requirements, resolving issues with consultants and stakeholders.
• Plan site operations, work sequencing, methodologies, and resource allocation.
• Monitor site progress to ensure works follow approved schedules, quality, and safety.
• Coordinate and supervise site engineers, supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, and workers.
• Attend project meetings, coordination meetings, toolbox meetings, and progress reviews.
• Manage procurement, delivery, and utilization of materials, equipment, and manpower.
• Review drawing discrepancies and coordinate with consultants/authorities for timely resolution.
• Assist in reviewing Construction Plans, site utilization, traffic diversions, temporary works, and protection measures.
• Ensure compliance with WSH regulations, LTA requirements, specs, and company policies.
• Conduct site inspections and QA/QC activities to ensure project requirements.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, subcontractors, utility agencies, and government authorities.
• Ensure timely preparation and submission of project documentation, permits, inspections, and technical submissions.
• Identify potential risks and implement corrective or preventive measures to mitigate impacts.
• Assist in monitoring project costs, productivity, and resource utilization to support budget objectives.
• Support testing, commissioning, and handover activities upon project completion.

Job Requirement

• Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Professional Engineers Board (PEB) Singapore or relevant authorities.
• Minimum 10 years of engineering experience, with at least 6 years in construction supervision of large-scale infrastructure projects
• Experience in MRT, railway, or infrastructure projects under the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will be an advantage.
• Experience in traffic diversion works, utility diversion/protection works, and viaduct construction will be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of construction methodologies, project planning, quality management, workplace safety regulations, and statutory compliance requirements.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Experience in coordinating with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and government authorities.
• Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, planning, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Familiar with Singapore construction practices, LTA requirements, and authority submission processes.
• Willing to work on-site, including night shifts, weekend work, or shift arrangements when required.
• Candidates who can commence work immediately or within a short notice period will have an added advantage.
