Job summary

KINGFISHER RECRUITMENT (SINGAPORE) PTE. LTD. partners with an established international hotel in Singapore to appoint an Assistant Chief Engineer. You will lead the engineering team, oversee daily maintenance operations and champion safety and reliability across building systems.

You will work closely with the Director of Engineering, drive energy-management and sustainability initiatives, and coordinate CAPEX projects, budgets and audits to support continuous hotel performance.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 5-7 years of experience in hotel engineering, building operations or facilities management.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or team-leadership experience.
• Sound knowledge of M&E systems, BMS, ACMV, preventive maintenance and energy management.
• Exposure to BCA Green Mark, sustainability programmes or environmental reporting would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of fire safety, workplace safety and Singapore statutory requirements.
• Experience managing contractors, budgets, equipment upgrades, CAPEX or A&A projects.
• Confident in handling operational emergencies and making decisions under pressure.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and standby duty when required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily activities of the Maintenance and Preventive Maintenance teams and maintain reliability of guest-room systems, public areas, back-of-house facilities and critical building infrastructure.
• Monitor the Building Management System (BMS) and ensure building services operate efficiently; track energy use and recommend improvements.
• Coordinate hotel improvement projects, equipment upgrades, CAPEX programmes, and support budgeting, cost estimation and vendor performance.
• Supervise, coach and develop Duty Engineers, Technicians and maintenance personnel; coordinate 24-hour operations and respond to emergencies.
