Job summary

DIRECT SEARCH ASIA PTE. LTD. in Singapore is seeking a chartering professional to build the cargo book in the Pacific region (spot and forward) and secure tonnage to cover positions. You will maintain relationships with clients and stakeholders, evaluate opportunities, negotiate charter parties, and work with Operations to ensure smooth voyages.

Additionally, you will study new trades and ports and generate timely performance reports to support operations and business decisions.

Qualifications

University degree in a relevant discipline.
3–5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in an Operating firm.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of supramax trades.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
Proactivity, self-reliance and ownership.
Ability to foster relationships.
Strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

Build the cargo book within the Pacific region (spot and forward) and secure tonnage to cover positions.
To maintain and develop relationships with clients and other stakeholders.
To evaluate various opportunities & negotiate and finalise charter parties
Manage risk exposure via FFA.
Work closely with Operations department to ensure smooth performance of voyages
Study/understand new trades and ports.
Generate and submit performance reports and other assigned reports in a timely and accurate manner.
