We are a Singapore Catalist-listed company and are looking for an experienced Assistant Business Manager to join our team.
Job Scope and Responsibilities
1. Business Development and Opportunity Identification
- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, particularly in the renewable energy, solar PV, Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), infrastructure and related sectors.
- Conduct market research on potential projects, customers, strategic partners and industry developments across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, China and other international markets.
- Support the development of market-entry and business-expansion strategies.
2. Project Development and Coordination
- Coordinate the development and follow-up of renewable energy and infrastructure projects from the initial discussion stage through proposal, tender, negotiation and implementation preparation.
- Monitor project progress, deadlines, outstanding matters and required actions.
- Maintain project trackers and regularly update management on project status, risks and next steps.
3. Tender and Proposal Management
- Review tender, Expression of Interest (EOI), Request for Information (RFI) and Request for Proposal (RFP) requirements.
- Coordinate the collection, preparation and submission of corporate, legal, financial, technical and project-experience documents.
- Prepare and review tender clarification questions, responses, application forms and supporting documents.
- Monitor submission deadlines and ensure that tender documents comply with the relevant requirements.
4. Stakeholder and Partner Management
- Liaise with government agencies, utility companies, project owners, local partners, EPC contractors, suppliers, consultants and potential investors.
- Arrange and participate in business meetings, project discussions and stakeholder engagements.
- Follow up on meeting outcomes, outstanding information and agreed action items.
5. Commercial and Financial Coordination
- Assist in reviewing project commercial structures, investment arrangements, EPC financing proposals, equipment supply arrangements and revenue models.
- Liaise with the Finance Department regarding project payments, reimbursements, financing documents and other financial arrangements.
6. Contract and Legal Coordination
- Coordinate the preparation, review and revision of agreements, including Joint Venture Agreements, Cooperation Agreements, EPC-related contracts, Memoranda of Understanding and other commercial documents.
- Liaise with external lawyers and internal management regarding contract comments, revisions and approvals.
- Monitor legal documentation, contractual obligations and outstanding legal matters.
- Ensure that relevant agreements and supporting documents are properly recorded and followed up.
7. Management Reporting and Internal Communication
- Prepare project summaries, meeting minutes, management reports, business proposals and presentation materials.
- Provide regular updates to the Business Development Manager, Directors and senior management.
- Consolidate information from different stakeholders and present key issues, recommendations and action plans for management’s consideration.
- Coordinate internal approvals and communicate management decisions to the relevant parties.
8. Documentation and Multilingual Communication
- Prepare, review and coordinate business correspondence, official letters, emails, presentations and project documents.
- Support the translation and preparation of documents in English, Chinese and other required languages for international business purposes.
- Ensure that business documents are professionally presented and consistent with company requirements.
9. Regulatory and Compliance Coordination
- Conduct preliminary research and follow up on relevant licences, certifications, registration requirements and regulatory procedures in different markets.
- Coordinate with local consultants, government agencies and service providers regarding regulatory and compliance matters.
- Support the preparation of corporate and compliance documents required for tenders, partnerships and project development.
10. Supply Chain and Logistics Coordination
- Liaise with suppliers and logistics service providers regarding equipment specifications, quotations, import requirements, shipment arrangements and delivery schedules.
- Support the sourcing and coordination of solar panels, BESS, transformers and other project-related equipment.
- Follow up on import permits, shipping documents and logistics-related issues.
11. Meeting and Business Travel Coordination
- Arrange meetings, site visits, business trips and stakeholder appointments for management and project teams.
- Prepare meeting agendas, briefing notes, supporting documents and post-meeting follow-up reports.
- Coordinate travel schedules and other logistical arrangements for business-related activities.
12. General Business Development Support
- Assist the Business Development Manager and Directors with ad hoc assignments related to business development, project execution and corporate matters.
- Represent the company professionally in communications and meetings with external stakeholders.
- Perform other duties assigned by management to support the company’s business objectives and international expansion.
Requirements
- Diploma or higher in Business Administration or related fields.
- Minimum 3 years of sales experience; experience in renewable energy or engineering-related industries is a must.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other standard office software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese.
- Detail-oriented, responsible, and well-organized, with good time management and teamwork abilities.
- Able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic bilingual translation ability (English and Chinese).
- Experience in project documentation, quotation, or contract preparation.
- Interest or knowledge in the renewable energy sector.
