Job summary

RECRUIT EXPRESS PTE LTD is hiring an Assistant Accountant / Junior Accountant for a UK MNC in the shipping sector based at Raffles Place, Singapore. The role is a 12-month contract with a hybrid work setup, including fixed WFH every Friday and a monthly salary up to SGD 5,000 plus variable bonus.

You will support financial accounting, month-end close, reconciliations and financial controls, covering AP/AR, intercompany activities and credit control, with exposure to audit and compliance

Qualifications

• Experience in financial accounting and month-end closing.
• Proficient in managing AP/AR activities.
• Experience with intercompany transactions and credit control.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end closing and preparation/review of financial data.
• Handle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities.
• Manage intercompany invoicing and payment allocations.
• Process intercompany expense allocations and transactions.
• Perform credit control and follow up on aged debts.
• Manage staff expense claims with SAP Concur.

Assistant Accountant / Junior Accountant | Shipping MNC

Join an established UK MNC within the shipping industry in a lean Finance team with good exposure across operational accounting, month-end closing, reconciliations and financial controls.

Financial Accounting & Month-End

• Support month-end closing and preparation/review of financial data
• Handle Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities
• Manage account creation, invoice allocation and payment allocation across multiple entities
• Process intercompany expense allocations and transactions
• Perform credit control and follow up on aged debts
• Manage staff expense claims through SAP Concur and assist users with system-related issues

Reconciliation & Financial Control

• Perform bank reconciliations
• Handle income reconciliations
• Reconcile corporate card accounts
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records

Audit, Tax & Compliance

• Support annual audit and tax queries
• Maintain proper accounting documentation and audit-ready records
• Respond to audit requirements and follow-up queries
• Ensure compliance with internal financial controls, policies and procedures

Systems & Process Improvement

• Support ownership, administration and reporting for SAP Concur
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and workflows
• Maintain data integrity across finance systems
• Provide broader finance support to the Finance Manager and overseas Finance team
