Job summary

SCIENTE INTERNATIONAL PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced AS400 Developer in Singapore to lead end-to-end AS400 project delivery. You will develop using RPGLE/SQLRPGLE and maintain DB2/400, participate in SIT/UAT, and provide production support.

The role requires 3–5 years hands-on AS400 experience, strong knowledge of development cycles, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to implement robust solutions.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years hands-on IBM AS400/iSeries development and support
• Strong expertise in RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, CLLE, DB2/400, Query/400, DDS, Subfiles, Embedded SQL
• Experience in technical analysis, impact assessment, solution design, development, and enhancements
• Experience supporting SIT, UAT, regression testing, production implementation, and defect resolution
• Knowledge of SDLC, batch processing, job scheduling, system integrations, release management, and production troubleshooting
• Experience with code reviews, documentation, deployment planning, and change control

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end technical delivery of AS400 enhancements and projects, including impact analysis, estimation, design, development, and implementation
• Develop, enhance, troubleshoot, and maintain AS400 applications using RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, CLLE, and DB2/400
• Coordinate SIT, UAT, regression testing, defect resolution, deployment, and post-production verification
• Collaborate with business users, PMs, BAs, infrastructure teams, and vendors to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Provide technical guidance, conduct code reviews, ensure development quality, and manage risks and dependencies
• Investigate production incidents, perform root cause analysis, implement fixes, and support releases
• Prepare deployment plans, test support materials, and production handover documents

We are seeking an experienced AS400 Developer with strong hands-on expertise in IBM AS400/iSeries development, application delivery, UAT, and production support.

Mandatory Skill-set

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in IBM AS400/iSeries development and support;
• Strong expertise in RPGLE, SQLRPGLE, CLLE, DB2/400, Query/400, DDS, Subfiles, and Embedded SQL;
• Experience in technical analysis, impact assessment, solution design, development, and application enhancements;
• Strong experience supporting SIT, UAT, regression testing, production implementation, and defect resolution;
• Good knowledge of SDLC, batch processing, job scheduling, system integrations, release management, and production troubleshooting;
• Experience with code reviews, technical documentation, deployment planning, and change management/version control.

Desired Skill-set

• Banking, financial services, retail, payments, cards, loans, deposits, or core banking application experience;
• Exposure to Control-M/workload automation, DevOps/CI-CD, and modern integration technologies;
• Experience working in Agile or hybrid project environments.
