Job summary

Space Executive in Singapore is seeking an Architect & Planner to lead site selection and land-use planning for data centre developments across APAC. The role requires coordinating multidisciplinary teams from initial assessment to investment-ready decisions.

Ideal candidates have 10+ years in large-scale infrastructure design, proficiency in MEP coordination, and fluency in English and Mandarin. Some regional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Accredited Master’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 10 years in site selection and design for large-scale infrastructure.
• Experience in hyperscale data centres or critical infrastructure preferred.
• Strong knowledge of MEP space planning and infrastructure coordination.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp and Revit.
• Bilingual in English and Mandarin.
• Town Planners Institute registration and LEED credentials are a plus.
• Willingness to travel regionally as required.

Responsibilities

• Define site selection criteria and lead due diligence across APAC markets.
• Optimise land use planning for data centre development in line with objectives, power, water, and local plans.
• Validate site suitability against code compliance and built-to-suit requirements.
• Chair multi-disciplinary coordination meetings and provide planning direction.
• Complete test fits for Data Centre, Facility, and MEP plant.
• Review and validate land use, planning permissions, and external boundary provisions.
• Provide executive-level site analysis briefings to support investment decisions.
• Stay current on planning policy and law across jurisdictions.

We're partnering with a fast-growing data centre developer with an active pipeline across Southeast Asia to hire an Architect & Planner based in Singapore.

This is a regional role sitting within the Design Delivery function, focused on optimising land use and driving site selection for data centre development across APAC. You'll be the go-to expert on site planning, regulatory compliance, and test fit validation — working across multiple markets and coordinating multidisciplinary teams to bring sites from initial assessment through to investment-ready decisions.

What you'll be doing

• Define site selection criteria and lead due diligence across APAC markets
• Optimise land use planning for data centre development in line with investment objectives, power and water availability, and local development plans
• Validate site suitability against code compliance and built-to-suit requirements for targeted customers
• Chair multi-disciplinary coordination meetings and provide holistic site planning direction
• Complete test fits incorporating Data Centre buildings, Facility buildings, and MEP plant
• Review and validate land use, planning permissions, and external boundary provisions
• Provide executive-level site analysis briefings to support informed investment decisions
• Stay current on changes in planning policy and law across relevant jurisdictions
