Job summary

Vertex Solutions Singapore is seeking a seasoned Project Development professional to lead data centre development end-to-end, from site identification through construction readiness and handover. • 8+ years of data centre or large-scale infra project experience.
• Knowledge of data centre development lifecycle: site selection, power, permitting, construction.
• Proven track record managing complex development projects from origination to execution.
• Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and analyze complex data.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end development of data centre projects from site identification to handover.

• Oversee grid connection and power procurement strategies.
• Drive feasibility studies across technical, commercial, environmental, and regulatory aspects.

• Coordinate with engineering, design and construction teams to meet targets.
• Engage with government agencies, utilities, contractors, consultants, and community partners.
• Support commercial negotiations (EPC, O&M, offtake).
• Monitor market trends to inform pipeline and expansion.
• Prepare development papers for senior management and investment committees.

Job Title: Project Development – Data Centre

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the end-to-end development of data centre projects, from site identification and feasibility through to construction readiness and handover
• Identify, evaluate and secure suitable sites, assessing power availability, connectivity, land tenure, zoning and expansion potential
• Manage land acquisition, leasing and permitting processes, coordinating with landowners, authorities and legal advisors
• Oversee grid connection and power procurement strategy, engaging utilities and energy providers to secure reliable and cost-effective supply
• Drive project feasibility studies, including technical, commercial, environmental and regulatory assessments
• Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules and development plans, tracking milestones and managing risks
• Coordinate with engineering, design and construction teams to ensure designs meet capacity, efficiency and sustainability targets
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, utilities, contractors, consultants and community partners
• Support commercial negotiations, including EPC, O&M, and customer/offtake agreements
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and demand dynamics to inform pipeline and expansion strategy
• Prepare development approval papers and present recommendations to senior management and investment committees
• Other duties as assigned

Essential Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Real Estate, Business, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in project development within data centres, digital infrastructure, power, or large-scale real estate/infrastructure projects
• Strong understanding of the data centre development lifecycle, including site selection, power, permitting and construction
• Proven track record of managing complex development projects from origination through execution
• Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation and communication skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously

Desired Experience:

• Familiarity with power infrastructure, grid connection processes and renewable energy procurement
• Knowledge of regional regulatory frameworks and permitting requirements across Southeast Asia
• Exposure to sustainability and ESG considerations in data centre design and operations
• Experience working with hyperscalers, cloud providers or enterprise customers
