Republic Polytechnic's School of Applied Science invites applications for a Research Assistant (Aquaculture Genetics). You will plan and conduct life science R&D experiments focusing on aquaculture, fish husbandry, genetics and genomics, and support sample collection, genotyping workflows, and data preparation.

You will work under the Project Leader and collaborate with external partners, review literature, mentor students, maintain lab records, and assist with procurement and documentation.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Life Sciences, Aquaculture, Genetics, Genomics, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, Agriculture or a related discipline.
• Experience in aquaculture research would be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with molecular biology and genetics techniques and data analysis.

Responsabilités

• Plan and conduct life science R&D experiments with a focus on aquaculture, including fish husbandry and genetics.
• Support aquaculture genetics and genomics research, including sample collection and processing.
• Perform basic analysis and interpretation of genetic and genomic data using statistics and bioinformatics tools.
• Review literature and contribute to reports, presentations and manuscripts.
• Coordinate sampling, phenotyping and experiments with collaborating institutions.
• Mentor students and support internships and final year projects.
