Job summary

Digital Business People Pte. Ltd. is seeking an Applications Lead Developer to join the team in Singapore.

You will design, develop and deploy J2EE/PL-SQL applications, lead peers, and coordinate with Technology Applications to deliver high-value changes across environments. You will work with business users to translate needs into detailed specs, ensure security and compliance, and mentor developers through the full lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Strong applications development experience with minimum 7 years.
• Proficient in J2EE, Java 21 and above; JSF4.x and above; HTML5; PL/SQL.
• Experience with Hibernate, SpringBoot 3.x+, and microservices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement changes to meet timeframes and standards.
• Perform peer code reviews to ensure code quality in NEMS systems.
• Collaborate with Applications team and business users to maximise value while controlling risk.
• Assess impact and risk of changes to systems and business.

Job description

1.POSITION TITLE

ApplicationsLead Developer

2.REPORTING STRUCTURE

TheApplications Lead Developer reports to Manager Technology (Applications) andthe Assistant Vice President Technology (Applications).

3.SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY

Aspart of the Applications team, the developer is to analysis, design, develop, review and deploy J2EE/PL-SQL applications.

4.ORGANISATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

Internal

TheApplications Lead Developer will work closely with the Technology Applications team to ensure their tasks are clearly defined, managed and delivered in the most effective manner.

TheApplications Lead Developer will work with all members of the Applications, Operations and Infrastructure teams to ensure that changes are delivered to business specifications. Once developed, the Application Developer is to support the migration of changes from the development environment, to the test and production environments.

External

TheApplications Lead Developer may be required to liase with external vendors, sub-contractors and external customers to perform their duties.

5.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND DUTIES

The key duties and accountabilities of the Applications Lead Developer include:

• The design, development and implementation of applications related changes to agreed timeframes and standards.
• Responsible for peer code reviews to ensure the quality of the code deployed in the NEMS systems.
• Working closely with theApplications team and internal business users to ensure changes are developed in a way that that provides maximum benefit to the company, in a cost-effective, secured and operationally “risk-free” manner.
• Providing assessments on the impact and risk of potential changes to the systems and the business as a whole.
• Creation of concise detailed system specifications for changes that solve business needs and implementing changes to these agreed specifications.
• Following strict change control and version control processes to ensure quality changes are implemented in an auditable manner.
• Be outspoken in providing “best practise” recommendations.
• Proactively suggest ways to reduce operational overhead by “streamlining” manual tasks into automated procedures.
• Providing application support to the Operations team whenever necessary.

Experience

Essential

Strong applications development experience with minimum 7 years of experience on the following tools and technologies

• J2EE,Java 21 and above
• JSF4.xand above;
• HTML5;
• PL/SQL;
• Hibernate;
• SpringBoot 3.X and above;
• JavaMircoservices,
• RESTAPI, SOAP Webservices;
• JBossEAP 7.X/8.X;
• JavaSecurity
• Oracle21c Database; and
• UIFrameworks (Prime faces 13/14/15.X Angular 20.X)

• Experience on Applications security throughout the development lifecycle and ability to enhance applications to meet the security best practices.
• Highly motivated to provide complete solutions to customers. Being able to talk to users and understand their requirements is essential.
• Work with business users and stakeholders to gather, clarify, and analyse user’s functional requirements, translating them into detailed requirement specification document.
• The ability to manage one self during projects from start to finish, throughout the whole development lifecycle.
• Guide and support developers throughout the whole development lifecycle.
• Experience with software configuration management principles and systems.
• Experience with test methodologies and tools.
• Experience with leading small to medium projects. (i.e. project that span across at least6 calendar months with at least 2 full developers and above)

Preferred

• Redhat suite (e.g. Redhat Build of Apache Camel, Fuse), Mendix, AJAX, UNIX shell scripts, .Net
• Previous experience with energy or other markets.
• Experience in building web-based trading systems.
