Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking an Application Engineer to provide technical support for customer quotations and business development case studies across composite applications. You will translate customer requirements into costed proposals, including timing and resource estimates, and travel with the BD team to client facilities.

You will collaborate with engineering, sales, and operations to define fabrication techniques, material choices, and design details, while presenting technical proposals

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Process & Instrumentation Engineering or Electrical Engineering with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of PLC programming; PCVue or ICONICS software.
• Transportation composite or other composite experience preferred.
• Willing to learn new things and work with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer quotations and develop business development case studies for composite applications.
• Analyze customer requirements and demonstrate cost, timing, and resources in proposals.
• Travel with the business development team to customer facilities.
• Collaborate with engineering, sales, and operations to define fabrication techniques and design details.
• Create 3D CAD representations and prepare bill of materials for proposals.
• Prepare cost estimates from blueprints and related documents; consult with engineers.
• Conceptual design of composite components and assemblies for proposals.
• Generate solid and surface CAD models; discuss tooling and processes.
