Job summary

NCS is seeking an Application Engineer (Testing) in Singapore to lead testing of software/applications to meet specifications and client requirements. You will design test plans, prepare test environments, execute tests, analyze results, and drive quality across projects in APAC.

The ideal candidate has a Diploma/Degree in CS/CE/IT and 2+ years IT/testing experience, with knowledge of testing methodologies and tools. Strong communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in CS/CE/IT or IT equivalent.
• Typically 2+ years IT/testing experience.
• Familiar with testing methodologies, tools and techniques.

Responsibilities

• Understand and analyze testing requirements to prepare test plan and test design.
• Advise project team on design considerations to meet requirements.
• Prepare and ensure readiness of test bed and test environment for test execution.
• Execute tests in accordance with the test design.
• Analyze results and coordinate with teams to resolve defects and bottlenecks.
• Prepare test reports and provide regular test results updates.
• Recommend and use automated testing tools where appropriate.
• Manage test activities to ensure schedules are met.
• Adopt test standards and share knowledge within teams.

We are seeking an Application Engineer (Testing) who will be responsible to lead the testing of software/applications to ensure they function accordingly to specifications and clients' requirements to meet the business needs. The Application Engineer will conduct testing using preferred organizational practices & established processes contained in the Test Methodology to ensure test objective of the project is met.

What will you do?

Project Delivery

• Understand and analyze testing requirements to prepare test plan, and test design
• Advise project team on design consideration to facilitate meeting of requirements. Advise business analysts and/or customers on the testing requirements and test techniques
• Prepare and ensure readiness of test bed and test environment to carry out the test execution
• Execute test in accordance to the test design
• Analyze test results and work with respective teams to resolve issues such as defect open and resolution rate, bottlenecks in performance and other defects
• Prepare test report for submission
• Provide regular test results updates
• Recommend and use automated testing tools where appropriate
• Manage test activities and ensure the planned test activities are completed as scheduled.

• Adopt test standards and testing methodology
• Create awareness; conduct training on test techniques, assists in implementation of test standards, consistent methodology, best practices and principles.
• Share knowledge within or other NCS teams
• Self-directed learning & development.

The ideal candidate should possess

• Diploma / Degree in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology related field, or IT equivalent
• Typically 2 or more years of IT/Testing experience with knowledge of test methodology and various test tools
• Familiar with testing methodologies, tools and techniques
• Possess initiative and disposition with a strong commitment and orientation towards results and high quality standards
• Team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Self-motivator with a positive attitude and with high energy
• Proficient in written and spoken English
• Customer focused
