Job summary

JDA WMS Pte. Ltd. is seeking a technical support engineer to provide pre-sales technical support and deliver feasible, compliant solutions for customers in Singapore. You will work with Sales and distributors on RFQs, visit sites for surveys, and collaborate with Engineering and Supply Chain to meet project requirements.

The role requires a degree or diploma in engineering, strong communication, and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is required.
• Diploma in related engineering discipline with relevant experience delivering technical solutions is required.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple tasks are essential.

Responsibilities

• Conduct feasibility studies, propose alternative solutions, and identify deviations from specifications.
• Work on project tender specifications.
• Visit project sites for surveys and assist with integration proposals.
• Lead discussions to influence specification changes, especially on installation design for exhaust and fuel supply systems.
• Review requests for non-standard gensets and confirm viability of requirements.
• Respond to technical pre-sales enquiries promptly.
• Prepare project cost estimates including non-standard products and M&E works.
• Collaborate with Engineering on feasibility studies and recommend suitable solutions.
• Prepare quotations for sales team based on project requirements.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and vendors during pre-sales development of projects.
• Contribute to sales targets and department goals.
• Provide pre-sales technical support to distributors and dealers.
• Maintain the ISO system relevant to Industrial Solutions.

Overview

You will provide technical support on the company's product offerings to customers, making sure proposed solutions meet local authority requirements and tender specifications. You will evaluate project requirements received from Sales and distributors for non-standard systems through RFQs (Requests for Quotation), respond to pre-sales technical enquiries, and work closely with cross-functional teams to clarify requirements.

Responsibilities

• Conduct project feasibility studies, propose alternative solutions, and identify deviations from the specifications in enquiry documents.
• Work on project tender specifications.
• Visit project sites for surveys and assist with integration proposals.
• Lead discussions with enquirers to influence specification changes, particularly on installation design considerations for exhaust and fuel supply systems.
• Review requests for non-standard gensets and related equipment, confirming that all necessary information has been provided and that the requirements are technically and commercially viable.
• Respond to technical pre-sales enquiries in a timely manner.
• Prepare project cost estimates, including non-standard products, M&E (mechanical and electrical) works, and solution selling.
• Work with the Engineering team on feasibility studies and recommend suitable or alternative solutions that meet customer requirements.
• Partner with the Senior IS Engineer to prepare quotations for the sales team based on project requirements.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain and supporting vendors during pre-sales development of projects and non-standard systems to meet customer needs.
• Take ownership of contributing to the organization's sales targets and the department's goals.
• Provide pre-sales technical support to distributors and dealers.
• Maintain the ISO system relevant to Industrial Solutions.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Diploma in a related engineering discipline, with relevant experience delivering technical solutions in a comparable role.
• Good interpersonal skills, with strong verbal and written communication.
• Able to manage and prioritize workload effectively.
