Job summary

Yield Engineering Systems, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of capital equipment for nanoscale materials processing.

The Field Service Engineer will drive process acceptance and optimize recipes at customer sites, provide field support for tests, tuning, and performance improvement, and translate user needs into technical specs in collaboration with stakeholders. The role requires a Bachelor’s in a technical field and 5+ years in related engineering, with up to 50% travel.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Semiconductor or Life Sciences engineering.
• Experience in field applications or R&D leadership.
• Strong packaging knowledge for front-end/backend semiconductor devices.
• Excellent application of engineering science to design and production.

Responsibilities

• Process acceptance and recipe optimization at customer sites.
• Provide field support for final acceptance tests, tuning, and performance improvement.
• Assess user needs and translate to technical specs with stakeholders.
• Perform analysis, debugging, and QA before/after shipment.
• Provide technical support and on-site/remote troubleshooting.
• Assist sales with demonstrations, RFQs, and evaluations.

Job Title: Field Service Engineer

Responsibilities

• Responsible for process acceptance and recipe optimization at customer sites.
• Provide field support related to final acceptance tests, process/hardware tuning, and process performance improvement.
• Assess user needs, translate business objectives into technical specs, and consult with stakeholders.
• Perform analysis, debugging, and quality assurance before and after system shipment
• Provide technical support, resolve escalated customer issues, and handle on-site or remote troubleshooting.
• Assist sales teams with technical demonstrations, prototypes, RFQs (requests for quotation), and product evaluations.

Requirements & Skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in physics, chemistry, materials engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical field is required.
• 5+ years in Semiconductor or Life Sciences related engineering experience. Experience in Capital equipment industry preferred
• Demonstrated experience in field applications or Research and Development leadership and cross-functional team engagement.
• Strong Semiconductor Advanced Packaging knowledge to apply and characterize processes for front-end or backend semiconductor devices.
• Excellent knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology, including applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various technical solutions.
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new skills, new technologies, and develop solutions based on project needs.
• Ability to complete work on time consistently and with minimal guidance.
• Ability to function well in a diverse, team-focused, fast-paced environment with changing requirements.
• Up to 50% local/international travelling may be required.
• Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese
