Job summary

QUANTUM AUTOMATION PTE LTD is seeking a BMS Design Engineer to lead or support detailed engineering of BMS projects from design through commissioning and handover.

You will review MEP drawings, identify HVAC equipment, and develop BMS network architecture and I/O summaries, while developing control strategies and programming controllers. Collaboration with field engineers will be essential to ensure quality and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering field.
• 2–5 years of BMS design engineering, building automation, or industrial automation.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and BMS architecture including OPS.
• Proficiency in BMS programming, control strategy development, and protocol integration (BACnet, Modbus, LON, OPC).

Responsibilities

• Lead or support detailed engineering of BMS projects from design to commissioning and handover.
• Review MEP drawings, identify HVAC equipment, sensors, and control devices; develop BMS I/O summaries.
• Develop control strategies and program supervisory and DDC controllers; prepare test plans.
• Select sensors, valves, dampers, controllers; ensure proper wiring and interlocks.
• Simulate, test, and deliver defect-free hardware/software; support field commissioning and troubleshooting.
• Prepare technical documentation including BOMs, control specs, RFIs, and commissioning packages.
• Ensure deliverables meet quality standards and project timelines.
• Provide technical advisory and support to field engineers and clients; retrofit solutions as needed.
• Stay updated with BACnet/Modbus/LON/OPC trends to enhance system efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead or support the detailed engineering of BMS projects in accordance with country-specific standards, from initial design through to commissioning and handover.
• Review MEP drawings, identify HVAC equipment, sensors, and control devices, and develop BMS network architecture and I/O summaries.
• Develop control strategies, program supervisory and DDC controllers, and prepare test plans for BMS systems.
• Select and specify sensors, control valves, dampers, controllers, and related components. Ensure proper wiring, terminations, and interlocks.
• Simulate, test, and deliver defect-free hardware and software packages. Support field commissioning and troubleshooting as needed.
• Prepare technical documentation, including bills of materials, control specifications, RFIs, and commissioning packages.
• Ensure all deliverables meet required quality standards and project timelines.
• Provide technical advisory and support to field engineers and clients, including retrofit solutions and technical clarifications.
• Stay updated with industry trends, protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LON, OPC), and best practices to enhance system efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, or related engineering field.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in BMS design engineering, building automation, or industrial automation.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems (chilled water, cooling towers, AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, etc.) and BMS architecture (operator workstations, supervisory and DDC controllers, sensors, actuators).
• Proficiency in BMS programming, control strategy development, and integration of various protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LON, OPC).
• Experience in engineering, installing, and commissioning BMS and HVAC systems for commercial, industrial, or infrastructure projects.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
