Job summary

Good Job Creations (Singapore) Pte Ltd is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to review customer machine designs, perform engineering calculations and size components for proper system integration. You will liaise with suppliers and internal teams, interpret drawings, and provide technical recommendations and design improvements to meet customer requirements in a factory-automation setting.

Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Inventor is required, and hands-on experience in

Qualifications

• Relevant experience in mechanical design, application engineering or machine design within the factory automation industry.
• Hands-on experience in mechanical component selection, sizing and engineering calculations.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, assembly layouts and technical specifications.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor or equivalent engineering design software.

Responsibilities

• Review customer machine designs, assembly drawings, operating conditions and technical specifications to understand application requirements.
• Perform engineering calculations, including load, speed, torque, service life and safety factors, to ensure proper component selection.
• Recommend and size mechanical components such as linear guides, ball screws, actuators, motors, cylinders, bearings, couplings and positioning systems.
• Evaluate technical feasibility, component compatibility and potential application risks to ensure effective system integration.
• Provide technical recommendations, alternative product solutions and design improvements based on customer requirements.
• Conduct customer visits to provide application support, troubleshoot technical issues and recommend suitable engineering solutions.
• Liaise with suppliers and overseas technical teams to resolve technical enquiries and application challenges.
• Prepare technical documentation, application references and training materials to support internal teams and customers.
