We are looking for an AI & Workflow Automation Specialist to support Tech COO in identifying, designing, and building practical automation and AI-enabled solutions.
The role will work closely with business users, programme teams, and stakeholders to understand pain points, gather requirements, facilitate workshops, and develop lightweight tools, dashboards, scripts, and workflow automations that improve productivity and decision‑making.
This is a hands‑on role suited for someone who is technically capable, analytical, independent, and comfortable engaging stakeholders to translate business needs into practical solutions.
Key Responsibilities
The candidate will be expected to:
- Work with stakeholders to identify manual, repetitive, or inefficient processes that can be improved through automation, AI, or data‑driven workflows.
- Conduct workshops and requirement‑gathering sessions with business users, programme teams, and technology stakeholders.
- Translate business requirements into clear solution designs, prototypes, dashboards, scripts, or low‑code workflows.
- Build and iterate proof‑of‑concepts using tools such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Agent Builder, Glean, Python, SQL, or dashboarding tools.
- Develop Python scripts or other lightweight automation solutions to support data processing, reporting, workflow tracking, and operational analysis.
- Query structured and unstructured data sources to extract, clean, transform, and analyze information for automation and reporting use cases.
- Build dashboards and visual reports using Tableau, QlikView, or Python‑based dashboarding approaches.
- Document requirements, solution logic, assumptions, user guides, and handover notes clearly.
- Engage stakeholders independently to clarify requirements, manage follow‑ups, and drive small automation initiatives from idea to delivery.
- Drive adoption of delivered solutions by explaining functionality, collecting feedback, and refining outputs where required.
Technical Capabilities
Understanding of Low‑Code AI and Workflow Automation
- Familiarity with low‑code or AI workflow platforms such as Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Agent Builder, Glean, or similar tools.
- Able to understand workflow logic, automation triggers, user journeys, and how AI can be applied to improve manual processes.
- Comfortable learning new tools quickly and applying them to practical business use cases.
Python Experience and Scripting
- Demonstrable experience using Python for automation, scripting, data processing, or analysis.
- Experience with other scripting languages such as JavaScript, TypeScript, PowerShell, or Bash would be beneficial.
- Able to write scripts that clean, transform, analyze, or automate data and reporting tasks.
Data Querying: Structured and Unstructured Data
- Proficient in querying structured data using SQL.
- Able to work with unstructured or semi‑structured data such as APIs, text files, JSON files, logs, or spreadsheets.
- Comfortable extracting and manipulating data to support analysis, workflow automation, reporting, or dashboarding.
Dashboarding Experience
- Proven experience creating clear and useful dashboards using Tableau, QlikView, or Python‑based visualization tools.
- Able to design dashboards that are easy for stakeholders to understand and use.
- Able to convert raw data into meaningful metrics, trends, and insights.
Analytical Skills
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify patterns, and highlight meaningful insights.
- Able to break down business problems, structure information clearly, and propose practical automation solutions.
- Comfortable working with ambiguous requirements and refining them through stakeholder discussions.
Programming Languages and Tools
The candidate should have working knowledge of:
- Python for automation, scripting, data analysis, and AI or workflow integration.
- SQL for querying, reporting, and workflow logic.
- JavaScript or TypeScript for simple tool interfaces, web‑based triggers, or lightweight automation use cases.
- PowerShell or Bash as a plus for scripting or operational automation.
- Tableau, QlikView, or Python dashboarding libraries for reporting and visualization.
- Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Agent Builder, Glean or similar platforms for AI‑enabled workflow automation.
Project Management and Stakeholder Management
In addition to technical skills, the candidate should be able to:
- Plan and manage small automation or analytics initiatives independently.
- Facilitate workshops with stakeholders to identify pain points and automation opportunities.
- Gather, structure, and document requirements clearly.
- Manage follow‑ups, action items, and dependencies with minimal supervision.
- Communicate technical concepts in a simple and business‑friendly manner.
