Job summary

RRecruiter is seeking a Technical Engineer for Power T&D in the APAC region within an MNC setup. The role focuses on technical reviews, integration of prefabricated substations, and collaboration with sales on proposals.

Candidates should have a 3–5 year track record in T&D engineering, strong AutoCAD skills, and familiarity with AIS/GIS equipment, SLD/GA drawings, and transformer sizing. Singapore-based on-site position with global project exposure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years in Power Transmission & Distribution engineering.
• Experience with AIS, GIS, transformers, MV/LV switchgear.
• Design or integration of transformers and SLD/GA layouts.
• Knowledge of load calculations and protection settings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; BIM/3D knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical reviews and evaluations for overseas prefabricated substations and power distribution projects.
• Support design, integration, optimization, and engineering of prefabricated substations and related systems.
• Develop cost-effective, compliant solutions per specifications and standards.
• Prepare and review specifications, bidding documents, system configs, and proposals.
• Create modular substation configurations and T&D system designs.
• Assist sales with technical evaluations, clarifications, and proposals.
• Review SLDs and GA layouts; define technical parameters.
• Apply best practices to improve reliability, quality, and competitiveness.
• Support projects in Data Centers and renewable energy (solar, wind, storage).

Technical Engineer | Power T&D | APAC Region | MNC

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct technical reviews and evaluations for overseas prefabricated substation and power distribution projects.
• Support the design, integration, optimization, and engineering of prefabricated substations and associated power systems.
• Develop cost-effective and technically sound solutions based on project specifications, international standards, and local requirements.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, bidding documents, system configurations, and engineering proposals.
• Develop customized solutions including modular substation configurations and T&D system designs.
• Support sales teams with technical evaluations, customer clarifications, solution proposals, and project-related technical assistance.
• Define technical parameters and review engineering drawings, including Single-Line Diagrams (SLD) and General Arrangement (GA) layouts.
• Apply engineering best practices to improve system reliability, quality, performance, and competitiveness.
• Support projects across sectors including Data Centers and renewable energy such as solar, wind, and energy storage.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.
• Relevant experience in Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) engineering, preferably with exposure to international projects.
• Typically 3-5 years of relevant experience, with candidates having stronger or more specialized experience also considered.
• Experience with T&D equipment such as AIS, GIS, transformers, and MV/LV switchgear.
• Hands-on experience in the design or integration of power/distribution transformers, MV/LV switchgear, prefabricated substations, SLDs, and GA layouts.
• Knowledge of load calculation, short-circuit calculation, transformer sizing, CT/VT selection, and protection relay settings.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of BIM/3D design tools is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of T&D system integration, applicable engineering standards, and project specifications.
