Job summary

SCOR seeks a Senior Underwriter for Construction in APAC, based in Singapore. You will support business origination and maintenance of the Cedent Facultative offering to clients and brokers, collaborating with underwriting teams to drive profitable growth across the region.

You will help deliver the regional plan, contribute to profitability, and work with cross-functional teams across underwriting, claims and pricing to maintain consistency in underwriting practices and market leadership.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant experience in the insurance industry (underwriting, broking, loss adjusting, risk engineering).
• High technical acumen of reinsurance and insurance principals.
• Commercial business acumen required to negotiate profitable business.
• Strong critical thinking to assess risks and trends.
• Negotiation and persuasion skills for complex policies.
• Entrepreneurial spirit to identify new market opportunities.
• Intellectual curiosity to explore new ideas and industry collateral.
• Emerging risk discovery focus on non-traditional risks and strategies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in building and managing portfolios with strong market relationships.
• Evaluate offers of business, analyze exposure, and negotiate terms.
• Collaborate with brokers and clients to grow Cedent Facultative business in APAC.
• Support lead underwriter and ensure profitability and adherence to guidelines.
• Collaborate with Claims and Pricing for consistency of underwriting approach.
• Develop and report on growth opportunities and market intelligence.
