Job summary

Allied World Singapore is seeking an experienced Construction & Engineering Underwriter to perform general underwriting functions for the Construction & Engineering portfolio, including submission reviews, pricing analysis, policy form reviews, and liaising with other departments to understand risk exposures.

You will maintain policies and risk bordereaux, interact with intermediaries and customers to negotiate terms and coverage, and pursue upsell opportunities to maximize revenue.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction, insurance (technical lines) or risk engineering.
• Engineering degree (civil or mechanical) with insurance qualifications (ACII or equivalent) would be an advantage.
• Self-motivated, organized, and a team player with strong relationship building and communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage tight timelines and conflicting priorities.
• Proficiency in MS Office is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform general underwriting functions for Construction & Engineering business per guidelines, including submission reviews and pricing analysis.
• Administrate policies, endorsements and risk bordereaux; assist with credit control and file maintenance.
• Maintain contact with intermediaries and customers, negotiating terms and coverage.
• Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to maximize revenue and achieve targets.
• Liaise with Claims on claim activity and market concerns affecting profitability.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes for efficiency and outcomes.
• Other duties as assigned.
