Job summary

Citigroup Singapore is seeking an APAC Rates Trading Middle Office Analyst to support the Rates trading desk, processing orders and ensuring timely settlement. This hybrid role in Changi Business Park offers exposure to global markets within Citi's Operations - Transaction Services.

You will reconcile trades, identify settlement issues, and help drive process improvements, collaborating with global teams. A minimum 1 year in rates operations and a degree in business/finance are required; strong

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in Rates Trade Support/Operations/Middle Office.
  • Knowledge of derivatives including IRS, basis swaps, cross-currency swaps, FRA, OIS, bonds.
  • Understanding of front-to-back operations: confirmations, settlements, and regulatory reporting.
  • Able to work in a pressurized, fast-paced environment with a team.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Support Rates Trading desk to resolve trade flow exceptions and trade life cycle events.
  • Perform trade and position reconciliation to ensure complete trade capture.
  • Identify and resolve settlement issues; propose process improvements.
  • Ensure controls are performed, completed, and signed off timely.
  • Monitor and address errors to minimize risk; escalate issues as needed.
  • Design and analyze moderately complex reports with leadership guidance.
  • Assist with control activities and launch of new products and services.
  • Assess risk in business decisions; comply with laws, policies and ethics.

In this role, you’re expected to:

The Securities & Derivatives Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for processing orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team. The overall objective of this role is to facilitate the clearance, settlement and investigation of client securities and derivatives transactions

  • Support Rates Trading desk to resolve trade flow exceptions and trade life cycle event processing
  • Perform trade and position reconciliation to ensure completeness of trade capture in the Risk management system
  • Identify and resolve securities and derivative settlement issues, and make process improvement recommendations to leadership
  • Ensure all controls are diligently performed, completed, and signed off on a timely basis
  • Monitor and suggest solutions to errors to minimize risk to the bank, through an intermediate knowledge of procedural requirements
  • Escalate transaction processing issues to the appropriate department and collaborate on a solution
  • Design and analyze moderately complex reports, in coordination with standards set by direct leadership
  • Assist with control activities, and the launch of new products and services
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in either Rates Trade Support/ Operations / Middle Office within the Financial Services Industry is required
  • Good understanding in relevant derivatives (Interest Rate Swaps, Basis Swaps, Cross Currency swaps, Forward Rate Agreement (FRA), Overnight Index Swaps (OIS), Bonds
  • Knowledge of the front to back Operations process (including the key elements such as confirmations, settlements, and regulatory reporting) and facilitate issue resolution across teams.
  • Great team player and able to work in a pressurized and changing environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group including senior executives, managers and subject matter experts
  • Attention to detail and with can do attitude
  • Knowing industry Rates derivative trade matching, clearing and compression system such as Markitwire, Trioptima, Quantile, LCH portal etc.
  • Bachelor’s Degree/University degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, or Finance
