Job summary

Johnson & Johnson is recruiting for a Director, Privacy Officer & DPO, APAC, based in Singapore or North Ryde, Australia. You will lead the regional privacy program, ensuring compliance with global and local data protection laws while enabling responsible innovation in a complex medical technology organization.

Responsibilities include serving as DPO, embedding privacy-by-design, coordinating with Legal, IT, Security, and HR, and guiding regional regulators and audits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10–12 years of privacy, data protection, cybersecurity or related legal experience.
• Experience as Data Protection Officer or supporting DPO function in a regulated setting.
• Strong knowledge of GDPR and APAC privacy frameworks.
• Ability to influence senior leaders and collaborate with IT, Security and Legal.
• Experience in medical devices, medtech or life sciences privacy programs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the DePuy Synthes regional privacy program in APAC ensuring compliance.
• Advise partners on privacy requirements across R&D, product development, and commercialization.
• Act as the designated Data Protection Officer and independent adviser on data protection.
• Embed privacy-by-design across business units and digital products.
• Coordinate regulatory interactions, audits, and data incident responses regionally.
• Provide privacy training and education to stewardship teams and leaders.
