Job summary

DePuy Synthes in Singapore seeks a Director, Privacy Officer & DPO for APAC to lead privacy governance across the region, including DPO duties and regulatory liaison.

You will partner with Legal, IT, Security, HR, Commercial, Clinical and R&D to embed privacy-by-design in products and processes, manage risk, and steer program maturity.

Fluent English, strong leadership, and 10–12 years in privacy are required; travel up to 20%.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10-12 years of privacy, data protection or related legal experience.
• Demonstrated experience as a DPO in a regulated environment.
• Experience with GDPR and APAC privacy frameworks.
• Proven ability to influence senior leaders in a global organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead the privacy program across APAC and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Advise partners on privacy and data protection requirements through R&D, product development, and commercialization.
• Serve as the designated DPO and independent advisor on data protection obligations.
• Embed privacy-by-design across business operations and digital products.
• Coordinate training and awareness on data protection and governance.
