Job summary

Adyen seeks a Senior Privacy Counsel to lead its APAC privacy work from Singapore, extending the global framework across the region. You will partner with product, engineering, and commercial teams to address regional data protection requirements and regulatory challenges.

You will drive privacy by design, advise on localization and data transfers, and help shape incident response and AI governance strategies across APAC.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of data privacy experience including GDPR.
• Hands-on expertise in two or more APAC privacy frameworks (e.g., PDPA, DPDPA, APPI, PIPA, PDPO, PIPL).
• Experience building or scaling a privacy program in-house; law firm experience valued.
• Strong drafting, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, with a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Act as the senior privacy advisor for Adyen's APAC operations, guiding product, engineering, commercial, HR, and corporate teams.
• Adapt and extend Adyen's global privacy framework to meet APAC requirements and establish a scalable baseline.
• Advise on cross-border data transfers, data localization, and localization requirements across APAC.
• Draft, review, and negotiate privacy terms in commercial agreements and DPAs for APAC.
• Monitor regulatory developments in APAC and translate them into internal policies and controls.
• Support privacy incident response and management in the region.
• Provide regional coverage on AI governance and data-related legal advisory.
