Job summary

SemiAnalysis LLC is seeking an APAC-focused Research Analyst to translate deep technical and market insight into financial intelligence for institutional clients across Southeast Asia and the wider Asia-Pacific region. You will build coverage of APAC datacenter and AI infrastructure, track capacity, and publish data-heavy notes while engaging with investor relations teams and utilities.

The role requires strong writing, forecasting, and bottom-up modeling skills, with exposure to APAC markets.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, strategy consulting, or a datacenter/infrastructure role.
• Solid knowledge of APAC datacenter value chain and regional operators.
• Ability to read filings, government documents, and local-language sources for forecasting.
• Excellent writing skills, data-driven and able to defend assumptions.
• Experience building bottom-up financial models from limited disclosures.
• Comfortable in a fast-moving policy environment and collaborating with technologists.
• Nice to have: knowledge of Bahasa Malaysia/Indonesia, Thai, Vietnamese, Japanese, Korean, or Mandarin.

Responsibilities

• Help build APAC coverage in the SemiAnalysis Datacenter Industry Model.
• Track infrastructure buildout and strategy of hyperscalers, neoclouds, AI labs, and colocation developers in APAC.
• Maintain site-by-site tracker and forecast of APAC datacenter capacity.
• Follow regional supply and demand drivers including policy, permits, land and tax incentives.
• Publish short, data-heavy notes on APAC datacenter developments and competitive moves.
• Speak with investor-relations teams, developers, utilities, EPCs, and other ecosystem players to deepen understanding.
• Support clients through calls and the SemiAnalysis support portal with timely views.
