Job summary

Tails Up in Pasir Ris East, Singapore, seeks an Animal Teacher to join our welfare-focused day school and boarding for dogs.

You will care for dogs daily, train and educate their owners, and contribute to community education on animal behaviour. A relevant qualification or practical experience is required, with a calm, reliable, team-oriented attitude.

Qualifications

• Qualification in animal science, veterinary nursing, animal behaviour, biology or related field OR equivalent practical experience in animal education or care.
• Demonstrable experience of at least 1 year working with animals.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to responsible attitudes towards animals.
• Reliability, patience and a calm demeanour when working with animals and people.

Responsibilities

• Directly contribute to the care and learning of dogs daily, including training and husbandry.
• Stay current with developments in animal welfare and behaviour science to ensure practices are accurate and evidence-based.

About the role

Tails Up is seeking a passionate and dedicated Animal Teacher to join our team in the Pasir Ris East, Changi Region. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our mission to directly contribute to the quality of care of our dogs but also educate the community about animal behaviour and management.

Key responsibilities

• Directly contribute to the care and learning of our dogs daily, including training and husbandry

• Stay current with developments in animal welfare, behaviour science to ensure practices remains accurate and evidence-based

• Keeping the community of owners up to date with quality of care and learning of their pets. Constantly evolving customer experience practices for the team to go beyond.

What we're looking for

• A recognised qualification in animal science, veterinary nursing, animal behaviour, biology or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in animal education or care

• Demonstrable experience of at least 1 year working with animals

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• A genuine passion for animal welfare and a commitment to promoting responsible attitudes towards animals

• Reliability, patience and a calm demeanour when working with both animals and people
