Job summary

Setsco Pte Ltd. in Singapore is seeking an Analytical Chemist to perform laboratory tests on samples in accordance with standards and to support method development and validation.

You will operate and maintain instruments such as IC, ICP, GC, HPLC, FTIR, and SEM/EDX, ensure accuracy of results, train junior staff, and assist in maintaining SAC-SINGLAS compliance and quality management systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related discipline.
• 2+ years of relevant working experience in analytical laboratory environment.
• Strong knowledge of chemistry principles and analytical testing methodologies.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Self-motivated and proactive team player.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests on samples in accordance with standards.
• Conduct method development and validation activities.
• Operate and maintain analytical instruments such as IC, ICP, GC, HPLC, FTIR, and SEM/EDX.
• Perform laboratory testing and ensure the accuracy, reliability, and integrity of analytical results.
• Provide technical training, guidance, and supervision to junior staff.
• Support the maintenance and continuous improvement of the laboratory quality management system.
• Ensure compliance with SAC-SINGLAS requirements and relevant accreditation standards.
• Monitor equipment performance and data quality through routine QA/QC activities and scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Assist in laboratory planning, resource allocation, and work distribution.
• Perform other duties and ad-hoc assignments as required.
