Job summary

Stratas Advisors seeks an Analyst to join our Downstream Processing team, covering fuel production, hydrogen and petrochemicals. This full-time position supports subscription-based services and consulting engagements with research and analysis.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s (or master’s) in chemical engineering or a related field, is fluent in English, and demonstrates strong writing, communication, and Excel/PowerPoint skills. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in chemical engineering preferred; degrees in energy economics, business management or other engineering disciplines will be considered
• Fluent in English and strong writing skills required
• Min 3.0/4.0 GPA in undergraduate studies
• Able to work independently and as part of a team, meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Proficient with Excel, Word and PowerPoint; strong analytical abilities

Responsibilities

• Expand and manage refinery and petrochemical databases
• Research, monitor and analyze industry developments, policies and regulations
• Write and update reports on energy topics including decarbonization initiatives
• Prepare client deliverables for consulting engagements
• Interact with clients and Stratas Advisors contacts worldwide
• Support business development activities
• Light travel may be required for engagements

Stratas Advisors seeks an Analyst to join our Downstream Processing team, which covers fuel production (refined products, e-fuels, and other low‑carbon fuels), hydrogen and petrochemicals.

Roles and Responsibilities

• This is a full‑time position that will support our subscription‑based services and consulting engagements by providing qualitative and quantitative research and analysis with the following responsibilities:
• Help expand and manage refinery and petrochemical databases
• Research, monitor, and analyze industry developments, as well as policies and regulations
• Write and update reports pertaining to the energy and related sectors and associated topics, including decarbonization initiatives
• Assist with preparing client deliverables associated with consulting engagements
• Support Interactions at all levels with clients and contacts of Stratas Advisors across the globe, many of whom are senior executives in leading multinational companies, as well as industry leaders and policymakers
• Support business development activities
• Light traveling could be required as part of consulting engagements

Qualifications and Requirements

• Legally authorized to work as a full‑time employee
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering preferred; degrees in energy economics, business management, or other engineering disciplines will also be considered, provided the candidate has a solid understanding of the refining industry
• Fluent in English
• Min 3.0/4.0 GPA in undergraduate school
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Able to meet deadlines and multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment with rapidly shifting priorities such as consulting engagements
• Must have good writing skills
• Computer‑proficient including applications for Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
• Strong oral/written communication skills in English and analytical skills

Preferred Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience or knowledge of refinery, petrochemicals, energy, transportation
• Fluency in one or several foreign languages will be an advantage
• Specialized knowledge in refining, petrochemicals, biofuels, carbon capture, or battery chemistry is a plus.
