Job summary

ReN3 is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer (Infrastructure) to own the platform's runtime inside client environments, standing up and hardening Kubernetes clusters in air-gapped, network-isolated setups. You will ensure clusters remain healthy, auditable, and secure in highly restricted environments.

You will work on-site with client IT teams to build offline deployment pipelines, manage IaC, and maintain observability and security without external SaaS, enabling sovereign deployments for

Qualifications

• Hands-on Kubernetes installation, operations, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management in production.
• Experience deploying workloads in air-gapped or network-isolated environments.
• Solid grasp of container networking, storage, and security fundamentals (CNI, CSI, RBAC, secrets).
• Comfortable working independently on-site with limited tooling and connectivity.
• Clear communication with client's IT staff.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, harden, and operate Kubernetes clusters in client environments — including fully offline, air-gapped installs.
• Own cluster lifecycle: install, upgrade, node management, networking, storage, and ingress.
• Build and maintain offline deployment pipelines — private registries, image mirroring, air-gapped Helm chart delivery.
• Manage infrastructure-as-code for repeatable, auditable deployments (Terraform, Helm, Kustomize, or equivalent).
• Set up and maintain observability for disconnected environments — metrics, logs, and alerting with no external SaaS.
• Own security posture at the infra layer: RBAC, network policies, secrets management, and compliance evidence.
• Work directly with client IT/infra teams on-site to resolve platform, network, and access issues in real time.
• Build and maintain deployment runbooks so any environment can be stood up repeatedly and handed off cleanly.
• Feed field learnings on deployability and operability back into the core platform team.
