Job summary

ByteDance Singapore is seeking a graduate with strong fundamentals in computer science to join the Video & Edge team. You will contribute to building intelligent operations systems, design solutions, evaluate technologies, and deliver core modules for AI Agents and AIOps platforms.

You will apply modern AI coding tools, work on high-concurrency systems, and continuously improve reliability, performance, and delivery quality in a fast-growing tech environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, OS, networks.
• Proficiency in at least one mainstream programming language.

Responsibilities

About the Team The Video & Edge team owns ByteDance's media content distribution infrastructure and technology platform, supporting video-on-demand, live streaming, real-time communications, image processing, and other multimedia services across products including Douyin, Toutiao, Tomato Novel, and Xigua Video. We also make the technical capabilities and tools developed through these business scenarios available externally through Volcano Engine, delivering video cloud products and services to customers across industries.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to building the intelligent operations system for ByteDance's global Video & Edge business.

Work on solution design, technology evaluation, core module development, testing, and delivery for AI Agent and AIOps platform capabilities.

• Build and continuously improve intelligent Agents powered by

Large Language Models (LLMs). Apply Prompt Engineering, RAG, MCP, Skills, multi-Agent orchestration, tool calling, and related techniques to intelligent fault diagnosis, root cause analysis, automated remediation, and intelligent customer service.

• Explore emerging directions in AI Coding and AIOps, rapidly prototype and evaluate new ideas, and apply valuable solutions to audio/video, CDN, and related business scenarios to improve engineering and operations efficiency.
• Participate in intelligent traffic management and large-scale platform development, with exposure to systems managing millions of machines and handling high concurrency.

Improve code quality and system reliability through code review, automated testing, observability, and performance optimization.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualification(s):

• Individuals who are completing or have recently completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline.
• Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, computer networks, and other computer science fundamentals.

Proficient in at least one mainstream programming language and able to apply these fundamentals to practical engineering problems.

• Advanced AI Coding proficiency: Demonstrated hands-on experience using Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Trae, or similar AI Coding tools to complete real development tasks or non-trivial projects.

You should be able to explain a concrete end-to-end workflow covering requirement understanding, complex task decomposition, code generation and modification, debugging, testing, code review, and quality assurance, as well as the resulting improvements in engineering efficiency or delivery quality.

• Strong and consistent programming ability: Able to independently deliver a non-trivial module or project, with attention to correctness, readability, maintainability, and performance.

You should be able to clearly explain the technical approach, implementation details, debugging process, testing methods, and key trade-offs. Simply listing programming languages or frameworks, or presenting only basic course assignments, is not sufficient evidence of programming ability.

• Strong interest in and hands-on ability with AI Agents.

Understand the fundamental capabilities and limitations of LLMs, and have used or built an LLM-powered application or Agent involving RAG, tool calling, multi-step task orchestration, or similar techniques.

• Strong curiosity, learning agility, and teamwork.

Stay current with developments in AI Coding and AIOps, enjoy creative engineering work, and maintain high standards for delivery quality.

Preferred Qualification(s)

• Practical project, open-source, research engineering, or competition experience involving AI Agents or LLM applications.
• Strong programming competition results, substantial engineering implementations, independent development of core modules, open-source contributions, system design, performance optimization, or complex debugging experience.
• Familiarity with audio/video systems, CDN, distributed systems, SRE, or AIOps.

Coursework, project, or internship experience involving high-concurrency or large-scale systems is a plus.

• Proficiency with AI Coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or Trae, with the ability to integrate them effectively into day-to-day software development workflows.
