Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking an AI product and solution owner to collaboratively shape AI initiatives from discovery to production in a Singapore-based environment. You will translate business requirements into scalable AI designs, including model integration, retrieval architectures, APIs, data flows, and platform components.

You will own the technical and product direction, ensuring alignment with priorities, user needs, and engineering standards, while establishing production-readiness

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in software engineering, AI products, or technical product ownership.
• Strong backend and architecture knowledge across distributed systems, databases, APIs and cloud.
• Experience with LLM-based products, RAG solutions, or agent-based workflows.

Partner closely with business and product stakeholders to shape AI solutions from initial discovery and use case definition through to implementation, launch, and ongoing enhancement.

Translate business requirements into scalable AI solution designs, covering model integration, retrieval architecture, APIs, data flows, storage, orchestration, and supporting platform components.

Own the technical and product direction of assigned AI initiatives, making architecture and solution design decisions while ensuring alignment with business priorities, user needs, and engineering standards.

Establish the frameworks required to make AI solutions reliable and production ready, including evaluations, guardrails, fallback mechanisms, human review processes, and clear failure handling.

Oversee AI products and solutions throughout their lifecycle, including production performance, quality monitoring, incident investigation, optimisation, and continuous improvement.

Evaluate and recommend the most appropriate AI approach for each use case, including prompt engineering, RAG, fine tuning, agent based workflows, and traditional machine learning methods.

Act as the bridge between business, product, engineering, data, and operations teams to ensure AI initiatives are technically feasible, commercially relevant, and successfully delivered.

Job Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of experience across software engineering, AI solutions, technical product ownership, or a related technology function, with exposure to delivering products or platforms end to end.

• Strong understanding of backend and solution architecture, including distributed systems, databases, caching, messaging systems, APIs, and cloud infrastructure.

• Comfortable discussing and influencing technical decisions across backend, infrastructure, frontend integration, data, and product measurement.

• Practical experience with LLM based products such as conversational applications, copilots, RAG solutions, or agentic workflows, with the ability to assess trade offs between different technical approaches.

• Able to work effectively with engineering teams and understand code, system design, and technical constraints without necessarily being focused solely on hands on development.

• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to translate between technical teams and business users.

• Comfortable owning requirements, prioritisation, solution design, and delivery across multiple stakeholders and workstreams.

• Adaptable, commercially minded, and proactive, with a strong sense of accountability for the quality and success of the solutions delivered.
